The classic sword showing up in the newsletter picture for the armor is funny, also guess that's where weapons are gonna be. Excited to see what the armor does, hoping its dire lean!

Hmm, it's being delayed but surprisingly no post mentioning it at all.


Not on topic, but mind if I ask when will the 2026 Calendar and Pando Hoodie code items be released? Also why is code items of the TLaPD Davey Jones - Bundle still not yet released?

Just want to ask this again, since it wasn't answered in the previous thread.

Is the armor skill supposed to be Spellbased? If it is, I think this would be better if it was SC or FD, maybe even Dire? Hope this can be clarified, thank you for the release!

^I would prefer if the skill was just changed to weapon-based to better fit the FO lean. We already got 3 SC Fire armors (two are premium) and 2 FD Fire armors (both premium) last year, and we'll eventually get a Rubicon-themed Fire FD Warrior armor in the future™ (unfortunately, there are no good Fire armor for FD warriors unless they spend a UR on Coal Golem, so they'll have to wait quite a bit).


On a somewhat related note, while token, package, and rare items don't usually count as item and/or elemental coverage, I do wish the staff, in general, would spread out the release of items that overlap in mechanics/element, especially armors. Between today and January 1 of last year alone, we got:
  • 4 FO Fire armors - Warforged, Pyrevein PVF, Infernal Pumpkin Pixie, and now Cinter Steed
  • 3 SC Fire armors - Warlock, Warforged, and Drakonnan
  • 4 FD Fire armors - Dominion Vanguard, Coal Golem, Gatekeeper, and Abaddon
  • 3 Earth armors - Underworld Archfiend, Coal Golem, Necrotech (Coal Golem and Necrotech both cover Earth/Dark, along with Necromech which we got in late 2024)
  • 8 Dark armors - Classic Werepyre, Resonant Beast, Shadow Cloak, Ninjachaun, Necrotech, Coal Golem, Gatekeeper, technically One Storm (3 of these armors were mentioned earlier as well)
  • 5 Light armors - Timeless Guardian, One Storm, Festive Legionary, Rubicon Legate, Frostval Overlord

    The armor definitely needs the skill to be weapon based considering it's FO

    I feel that @Zeldax's demonstration of recently-filled armour niches doesn't really capture the full story (for example, the overall number of FO armours was considerably higher than SC armours, even though the number of Fire armours specifically were more equal). Nonetheless, I do agree that it would be better for the horse to retain its FO lean. Changing it to SC now would change the primary audience base for the armour.

    As for changing the skill type: there's no doubt a weapon-based skill would be better for a FO armour. However, I don't think it's strictly necessary as @Andlu frames it. Beneficial, sure. Just not necessary.

    Not sure if this is intended functionality or a bug but when I try to transfer the harm burn using the Hexbound Solar Photosphere, it doesn't work. The pop up saying "shield douses your burns" appears, but the burn isn't transfer and I still have it.

    It's possible that status reflection is disabled for the Cinder Steed's self-burn, and also likely that the Hexbound shield doesn't actually check if a burn can be reflected before attempting to reflect said burn. I suspect that everything is working as intended.

    If my suspicions are correct, it's nice to see that the devs are using reflect/cleanse-protection when implementing item mechanics. Specifically reflect protection, because this is something that they've been able to implement for years, but have rarely done so.
