All of the challenges I've tried are laughably impossible. For example I just tried Odessa. She can do 1,300 damage in one move; I only have 1,700 hp. If massive damage was the only thing I had to work around that would be fine, but she also can't be stunned, her attacks can't really be avoided in the first place because of high bonus, and she also does an unblockable instakill move if the fight gets too long. And it will because I can't damage her until the mogbots get killed, and the mogbots resurrect themselves after 3 turns if you do kill them... and they're hard to kill in the first place because you have to take them out in one turn or they'll heal all the damage you did that turn. Essentially, it's impossible for me to damage her and very easy for her to damage me. It's not fun. It's not a challenge. Every single IatEoT challenge I've done operates the same way: Impossible for me to damage them, they'll do full heals at regular intervals even if I do, and on top of all that, they all do tons of damage with tons of bonus to hit.

Are they supposed to be impossible unless you're maxed out level 80 and a wizard at the game? Then what's the point of having them scale with your level? And why give of them extreme modes? If a maxed out character is the base for the base challenges, who can beat the extreme ones?

Helpful!

It's endgame content for high level characters. Before you try playing it, you should get to endgame with a high level character. Your stats increase as you level up, so values like the damage and Bonus you're seeing are much more manageable if your character is higher level.

The first part of this "argument" can be neutered by this particular old DFtube profile. So, while it is questionable why Inn gear are mostly non-scaling, you need to be a bit of a -in your own words- "wizard" at the game at the minimum if you want to confront these nightmares that currently defy your comprehension. The max level is mostly a practical requirement on top of a fully grown Dragon to deal with EX category combat.

If necessary, it is extremely recommended to peruse the DragonFable Endgame Wiki on top of the Inn/Arena's Forum pedia entry to get your head wrapped in the terror. Judging from my profiling of your Forum account, you come from AE games wherein you can somehow "bribe" your way to the best gear. Hopefully you're not of the v1 generation who are still in the notion of crude brute strength conquers all. We don't do that here. Otherwise, it will run contrary to the current devs' vision that all you need is a DA at most to feel not to restricted in this game. The rest is up to the player to foster a tactical mindset whether or not they can get a DA.

And before you contest further, have you ever wondered why the Book 1 and 2 reimaginings are revising certain bosses in those books to have abilities? Still in line with the last line of the previous paragraph. Hence why I could somehow forgive the devs for breaking to the less enlightened playerbase's demand to have a simplified Jaania when we do our final and ultimate confrontation with her. Just so to make that grow a tactical mindset aspect of being a DF player clear.

They're endgame challenges for a reason. You can't expect to succeed without prep. I'm still a novice compared to others, only having some success, but the inn offers a fun but tough challenge as well as rewards. Losing repeatedly is definitely frustrating but there's also enjoyment in steady progress. I think having something like these challenges is great. While not exactly needed for general play you're given fun toys to try. Keep struggling and maybe you'll succeed. Good luck.

Or you can see possible solutions but that kills the fun.

Tell ya what, OP, try following what I'm about to advise. If you say it's unfair, well, Rome ain't built in a day. Still intimidated after that saying, putting it lightly, let's not continue this discussion.

1. Override the urge to train every stat. Train no more than four for decent results.
2. Train and grow your Dragon. Try to emphasize the PROT stat if sub-600 points. Better you're alive than dead.
3. It is clear that you're sub-90 (1.7k HP is what, Level 78 assuming 0 END stats trained), so while you can experiment on and on to try to beat that Wanderer of the Wastes challenge that you seemingly recklessly dared (that was a Difficulty 3 fight on the hard side, after all), you really have to suck up the grind to reach the current cap of 90. To make it a little spicy and to gain some strength along the way, just two words: DeathKnight Relics. Featuring Zeclem's Keep. No, do not bribe your way with the Unlucky Doom Essences if you will claim that you have sufficient Defender's Medals to skip the long quest to acquire UDEs. Best that you save that for the DM Belt as the Arena has worthy Necklaces and Rings for general purposes. Paper Coil is a peculiar option for a belt.
4. Your choice of Nefarious Board's accessories, Wings of the Unraveler, Sentog Helm, or Distorted Doom Visage for back item and headgear; and Emperor of the Sea Chickens for weapon (Please save your soul from collecting Necro Paragon Soulblade, especially considering how resilient Rose mooks are to Bacon). If you insist on getting on the -Ice resist addiction, continue to plow through the story until you get Glaive of Eternal Peace. If too daunting, Isandel+ Ice Scythe.
5. Three words: Dominion of Dreams.

At the end of it all, not only to you get to strengthen DeathKnight (Seriously, though, learn other classes for your own sake to broaden horizons. Do not get intoxicated with speedrunning antics), you also get a good start on building your All resistance. If you're still overeager to dare the more difficult challenges, up to you.
