The Race, the Test: Fast paced net vs the slow Dial Up by Xirminator && Ana_Maria
My internet's fast as a hare
It'll race yours anytime
Only if you dare
And you'll see which is better in no time
My internet is slow like tortoise
perhaps more like molasses
doesnt go anywhere too fast
so patience is key
Mine would leave yours behind
Leave it to see the dust
You won't see it on rewind
but huff, puff mine's already feeling bust
Slow and steady the course
Wont win any medals, of course
Continuing on, same montone rate
Perhaps this, is my slow fate
But oh my I' winning
But now I must sit down
Running like this is tiring
and a snooze now would help me run
Slow and steady, slow and steady
Nice monotone pace
at this rate, I may lose face
Cause surely I, wont win this race
Oh this dream is so nice
That tortoise will never get near
That tortoise was not so wise
to challenge an internet like a hare
oh my oh my, what do I see
I see that fast net,
snoozing under the proverbial tree
I seem to be "passing" it now
though I dont see how
I suppose that ping is something
it'll soon regret
I'm thinking maybe I should wake up
But I bet there's still time
I know that I could twice overlap
A slowpoke tortoise like thine
Slow and steady

Seems I'm slow, thats all I hear
Gotta finish, this I know
that download seems important
my owner, I must show
Now time to check
if that slowpoke's stuck
I look around behind me
and there I see nobody
he surely can't be that slow
But I care not, time to resume the show
Slow and steady, just a few more bytes to go
Not sure how long it took
but my task, I shant forsake
Getting that big file
little by little, I'm not in denial
Took me quite awhile
but I think my owner will agree
it was all worthwhile
I run and I run, fast as a hare
but how can it be?
That slow net is right over there
so far ahead of me?
I thought it was slow
I guess that snooze my chances did blow
Now that slow tortoise I must follow
scanning now
no bad sectors, in this file
little by little, it was gotten
My task, I hath not forgotten
Like the little engine who could
I got that file, and didnt stop til I should
Finished in record time for me
Forever slow, forever me
And I am so late
I guess I should have not stopped
There's still so many a byte
My owner's temper has popped
he's not happy with me
I was very late and he's right
I shouldn't have let the connection drop
silly ping and silly peer
silly cable, that stopped for root beer
Was only a track of three mile
or perhaps a three meg file
this I know, either way
I seemed to have proved today
speed isnt always best
for when put to the test
reliability didnt rest
I may apologize for being slow
but my job's done, thats all I know
I should apologize for being late
I have to stop taking breaks at this rate
But apparently I just pinged
or maybe I simply peer'd
In any case I failed
My reputation is derailed
slow as molasses
steady the course
I got it done
but took a lot of time
Oh I'm trying to reconnect
I admit fast is not perfect
What's important is you keep at it
Even if takes a bit
