i think for one thing these forums are too long maybe old posts that nobody is commenting on should be deleted every once in awhile :/ what do you guys think?

 The forum does purge old posts every once in awhile if that is what you mean. Generally, people will notice that their post count drops by a largish margin, indicating a purge.

I believe 1 week old topics are deleted... please correct me if I'm wrong...

 Sea, indeed you are slightly mistaken. In many parts of the forum you can find posts much older than a week. I can still find the first ever AQW Q&A thread and that was from awhile ago.
