Prehaps a little Birthday Reminders Box in your Inbox Page for people in your Address Book (Unless Birth Date's Hidden)?
Just, I find it hard keeping on track with my friends' birthdays unless I'm always checking their Profiles or the Birthday Thread. :P
I know this may not be the top priority of the Forum Staff/Coders, but it'd be really helpful and useful.

This is how I imagine the Box to look like: [Image]
Prehaps their Age could be included aswell?

Great idea! I qould also find it quite convienient, as there are so many birthdays... If the chance arouse, I would vote for this :)
The aspect of age would be convientient too, although some users choose to hid their age - possibly hidden for the users who wish to hid their ages? Other then that, the idea is fantastic!

Valosity: The Age issues would be dealt with. :P
If Members choose to hide their Birth Date, they wouldn't be shown on the List, if they choose to hide their Birth Year, their age wouldn't be shown on the List.
I mean that's just my idea, I don't know if it can be Coded but it exists on most Forums.

If possible, I would love to see this idea put in. It would, in general, just make it more convenient.

I... I dunno, 3rd or 4th that idea. It sounds quite logical and helpful, and would help the forums get closer to really connecting people ;D

While this may be a neat idea for social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace, the primary use of the AE Forums is to support the users of the AE games. Things not pertaining to the AE games can be directed to the OOC boards, and coincidentally, there is a thread for birthdays here: Birthday / Leaving / Returning / Welcoming Thread

Sheriff Duncan: Yes, I already know and understand the purposes of the OOC Room and Birthday Thread.
But as I said in the original Post, it can be a lot of hastle having to check the Birthday Thread all the time to see who's birthday it is.
Besides, the reasons you have stated are more to do with Posting. This is a matter of PMing.

Hmm... I suppose it comes down to how many forumites actually show their age. If enough do so as to make this useful, then it's a good idea. Personally I like it, but the busy forum coders might think differently.

Khimera: The "Upcoming Birthdays" Box eouldn't be to primarily show the age, the age would only be shown if Members have their Birth Date shown.
And I suppose you're right... The Forum Coders will most probably be too busy.
