 Backlash

Backlash
Reflects ##% of damage dealt to the source as «element» damage. Successful save negates damage.

There's also a hidden "Level" variable, which we'll call BLvl.

Whenever you are hit by the monster, the monster makes a save. Unless otherwise specified, the save is:
    Level: BLvl vs MonsterLvl
    Major: YourEND vs MonsterEND
    Minor: YourLUK vs MonsterLUK
If the monster fails the save, then after you take the damage, the monster takes the listed percent of the damage it dealt.

Note that this doesn't prevent or negate the damage you would take. You still take the damage, and then the monster takes some. Also note that, when Backlash occurs, the damage displayed above you AND the monster is the amount of damage reflected; the actual damage dealt/taken is not shown.
