Sometimes, as I believe is the case with LB's recent thread in GD, a staff member may want to move a thread to a staff-only board where it can't be purged so that they can refer to it later on. However, this also means normal users can't see the thread anymore, which can be particularly problematic when said thread gets a second installment - As nobody can reply to or take up conversations from the previous thread.
Hence my suggestion for moderators to have the ability to duplicate a thread into a staff-only area rather than outright moving it. This would be useful in the aforementioned cases, and although I'm not sure if the feature is already implemented and just not used for whatever reason, or whether there are problems that I haven't taken into account, I think it would be useful for situations like this.
