Polls!

Not sure if there are Polls Currently, but I would suggest making ones.
This will help to:
-Rate players just by making a poll, on it: Good / Bad
And everybody click! Good Or Bad! :D
-Rate a lot of things.
-Votes for different things, like Contests, Players, Characters, Etc...
And a lot more!
I hope this isn't a bad idea. And thanks for reading! :)

Polls used to exist as a sub-forum of the OOC. It doesn't anymore because the forumites proved that they can't be trusted not to spam. I don't know if any of the higher-ups are considering reinstating, though.

As Oroadlaf said, it led to spam(although I was not around during the time, I know it's obviously a bad idea). You'd have people making polls on every release.

Did you like the release?
  • Yes.
  • No.
  • Didn't play it.

    Voting on players would ultimately lead to popularity contests and disrespect towards those deemed bad.

    Contests are usually judged by staff members, not players, for a reason.

    		What about making "Weekly Polls" BUT only Staff Members Make it, Players doesn't have the ability to make Polls. Just Staff Members? Does this make the Idea better? :O

    		 We still occasionally use polls, but they are for specific reasons. And for the time being at least, they are not for something as subjective as "did you like this week's release". However, they are used as a form of feedback sometimes. The trouble with polls is their inherent bias and lack of trustworthiness. They are not a good indicator of opinion, and even more importantly, people have the tendency to think they are. This only increases the difficulty of using a poll objectively.

    		 In addition, it's preferable just to have a feedback thread where people can voice opinions, as opposed to a selection of just Yes/No/IDK (which doesn't really tell the staff much). They do have some use for gathering statistics ... but there aren't many opportunities for those.
