Depends on the board said thread is in. Some forums have an auto purge set which deletes threads after a certain pre-set period of time of inactivity. Some don't.

Also, this mostly happens on the AQW Forums.

 Most forums (Q&A and GD in particular) are set to auto-delete after a certain period of time (AQ Q&A, for example, is 3-4 weeks, IIRC); this hasn't got anything to do with AQW GD at all. Others, such as the art forums, the Forum Rules and Resources, and a number of suggestion forums have their auto-delete function turned off.
