Smoother Animations or Performance?

As the title says, I'd like to discuss the "smoother Animations - Performance" bar.
I do not mean to offend Epic Duel developers in any way and I'd like to apologise if I do so, but one question just keeps pounding my head:

Are you kidding me?

Imagine that the architect that were to build your house asked you if you'd rather want it to keep you warm during cold days or if it should have water pipes..

Always go with performance on high, meaning smooth animation on low, and I mean all the way on low. Take that slider and drag it allllll the way to the right. Otherwise you will be lag dueling all over the place, especially these days.

 I fail to see the relation between warmth and running water between smooth animations and less laggy battles.

Anyways, some people don't like jumpy animations so they would prefer smoother animations but slower battles while those who hate lag would pick faster performance and get skippy animations but faster battles. Most people use faster performance anyways but I'm sure some people use smoother animations as well.

I did not ask what I should keep the settings like..I actually wanted to discuss the bar itself as a whole

And my point is that players should not be choosing if they wanted good animations or faster performance..both are to be implemented into a flash based game..that's my opinion at least.

I like the choice of being able to decide my setting.
Before the battle bar, when lots of people were on, the lag was so bad that I could almost, go and make a cuppa in between strikes. Slight exaggeration. :) I remember also, that not all players have fast wireless connections. If the game starts to lag, then the battle bar kicks in. LOVE IT,

I always have it set to the fastest and the graphics low. Unless I am doing a SS.

Fay in Low graphics. O.o? Wow.

I like mine at Low graphics. and just a tiny bit more than the default smooth setting.
