There are several obvious facets of the game that will soon prove to be limiting to the progress of level caps. 1) The method by which "balance" is sought. Nerfs & Buffs only serve to periodically shift the balance of power. It will never be a permanent fix to balance issues because as level caps rise, and more powerful equipment are released, more overpowered classes/builds will be present. 2) The method by which "chance" is calculated. Players do not have enough control over their chances, and the percentages (in most cases), are too low to be effective and reliable in battle. The RNG is an obvious necessity to determine when chances will take effect, but with such low percentages, one's opponent has a GREATER chance of bypassing one's chances. 3) The unavailability of reliable and effective buff/debuff items. Most players (mainly credit users) don't have enough effective means to counter higher level varium players. This problem will only get worse as level caps rise and more powerful varium weapons are introduced. 4) The saturation of non class-specific weapons. This was a great idea at first, but the game now has too many of these types of weapons. Each class has it's own advantage and disadvantage. Instead of saturating the game with weapons that increase the advantage of one class and does nothing to improve the disadvantage of another class, there should be more powerful class-specific weapons and non class-specific weapons should be RARE. Personally, I don't think we should make a permanent level cap. If we did, the game will eventually lose it's excitement for top level players. However, until these major issues have been resolved, we will see a lot more instability in the near future as level caps continue to rise.
