I just looked through the battle strategy forum, and I noticed something. Back when you were allowed to make class specific threads, pretty much everyone would get a build when they requested it, particularly techmages since I was very active and made sure to help people as much as possible. Now however I notice when I looked through that 90% of people who ask for builds never get one. Do you think we should bring back the class specific threads? Not trying to troll or flame, but I think they were actually quite a bit of help when they were there

The Battle Strategy thread is for players who NEED help with builds and NEED guidance. It's not a place for people to post their builds in one giant thread that may not even be any use to anyone reading it(a large majority of people posting builds they made would be high leveled so lower levels couldn't use it). The point of the forums is to HELP others, not be able to show off your build to everyone and use the excuse that someone might be able to use it so it's helpful(it's not the high level players with great weapons that need the most help after all).

 And what about a new ED Section with 6 threads, 1 for each class with 30 Pages, that let us Post all the builds we want and 1 post(Edit to add more) per page for each forum user.

We help them there though. They ask for builds and you guide them.

I believe 6 threads should be there, but I also think you should be able to post your own. I just would like it to be back to where it was before.

 Right before the changes were made, Scakk had a thread up where people could give feedback. After the changes were made, I let the thread run for a month as a means to explain the situation and have an intelligent discussion on the changes. During the course of that month, I saw a lot of complaining to undo the changes without any justification and I saw at least one build maker saying that he was done with the forum without elaborating further. I posted a final notice that, if I saw any further complaining, the thread would be locked and the issue would be closed for discussion. The very next post was more of the same, completely ignoring my last post.

My point here is that there was ample time when the changes were made to make proposals and offer feedback. I had planned to let the thread run longer, but my hand was forced by continuous refusal to take a deep breath and evaluate the changes in a mature manner. If it was just one or two people, the thread would not have been locked. Looking through that thread, I see one or two constructive posts at most. You are still free to PM me if you want to hear the justifications for the changes made, but the window is pretty much closed at this point.

I still don't understand why all the previous builds were deleted (the requests, etc.) We should've just locked the Class Threads, as they were a valuable resource.

 @king The problem is that builds are going to get outdated and if the thread is locked then it only prevents the owner to update it. It's a lot easier for everyone to just post builds as people need them rather than post builds that apply to their gear and will be updated as time goes on with new weapons and balance changes that the majority of people might not be able to use.
