I think it would be better if we stopped nerfing classes and gave other classes buffs to equal up to the more op classes.

Then HP will end up UPed and battles will last even less, meaning more abuse and 1st turn advantage being worse and worse. Also what are your suggestions to fix it? We're the ones giving feedback here as well, usually for your suggestions so we'd like to hear your views as well on how you wanna fix it. (saying 'nerf x and buff y' isn't best way since there's no line where class is balanced and OP, you need data to see that)

Take BH as an example of a balanced and powerful class with skills that work together - and then make sure that every other class has comparable power. Stats and skills are pretty easy to quantify into objective statistics... make sure each class has the same total at the end. I elect Trans for this noble undertaking ;)

He's got a point Trans nerfing a class where it is beyond weak and UP in comparsion to the rest of the classes hasn't really been working out in the whole balance section has it Trans? If we buff the classes to make them on par with the OP class then everything will be relativly balanced and yes we might have a few issue's along the way, but we will fix them in a flash and it'd be much easier to fix then the things we have to fix now. We can achieve balance, but we've never really buffed classes when an OP class came along have we? We've only nerfed them them Trans your a smart guy right if you do something again and agian and you acheive a negiative result then you attemp a diffrent aproach how a bout we try that?

Would you rather have battles take two turns and always depend on who goes first to win or have them take longer and not have luck=win?

^That is a very extreme view of buffing.
On the other end of the spectrum, nerfing classes will weaken everyone by so much, even raging will do three damage.

@dvd So are the staff just supposed to stop balancing after so many buffs so it doesn't happen? There are two reasons this won't happen ever.

1. The fact that so much buffing will lead to extremely shortened battles.
2. It's easier to nerf one problem class than it is to buff 5 other weaker classes.

Also,
quote:

Balance changes always boil down to buffs and nerfs. Any change, regardless of its intention, always sways the balance of power one way or another unless it is mathematically identical (in which case, the change must not have been for balance reasons).

*Any* change to an item, a skill, a class, a stat, etc will always make something stronger or weaker. A new weapon can introduce a previously unviable strategy that becomes dominant, regardless of whether that item was designed to buff that strategy or not.

-------

To address the OP's suggestion, constant buffs without nerfs is an unsustainable idea. A simple example: Let's say that every week we find the most underpowered class in the game, and buff its damage by 1. Every week, there will ALWAYS be a class that is more underpowered than the rest. Eventually, every class will simply one-shot the other. Whoever goes first instantly wins. Hardly fun. Obviously this isn't a perfect example, but hopefully you get the point.

I understand, nerfs feel bad. It's FUN to feel strong, and nerfs make you feel less strong, so they're less fun. But for the health of the game they are absolutely necessary.

Balance is taking all to the same level, if necessary, disregard nerfing and buffing for the sake of making equality.

"Nerfs" and "Buffs" are flashy words... Who needs them? Just make every class balanced. This is what eventually happened in AQ - Come up with real numbers that quantify how much equivalent power each skill possesses and make sure the total for each class is the same. Its probably something the Devs should have done - they didn't so we can do it... starting new post about this.
