It's all in the title!



The idea is to be able to fight in the arena of fortune city, for example. Or even in a newly made arena, who knows.


Our opponent would be a random Boss. Not any of the current NPCs, but new ones.
These new bosses would be equally balanced among each other, varying in different battle styles and builds! (6 different ones, maybe? One representing each class?)

-You can only fight in the arena once per day. (we can discuss this)
-To enter you must pay a small sum of money. (100 credits?)

After accepting the Arena Challenge, you are matched against one of the Bosses.
You can either be lucky or not, for you might encounter a boss that is better/worse against your build.

-If you win, you get a small prize, with a low chance of a rare drop/reward.

They would be balanced around the current level cap. This means they would always be fresh, not outdated and weak, like most NPC's have become, with the passing time.
But so this feature can be enjoyed from all players (it's not exclusive to players at max level), The bosses would be balanced for each level.

-A player of level 27 would fight a level 27 Boss.
-Minimum level to enter: 10 (Players should have some flexibility on their builds at this point. Discuss!)
-Rewards are adjusted for low level players. The higher your level, the better are the rewards.
-Bosses are a bit stronger than players. They should not be easy to beat. (Since during Omega all players will have practically the same power and stats, everyone would have a fair chance, Varium or not!)


If you eventually encounter and beat them all, you get an achievement! (Or maybe a small one for each Boss)

EDIT:
By the way, there is no real need for new NPC designs/art for these Bosses. We just need NPCs with player base models, with a set of specific weapons, colours and hairstyles that look good combined, to make them look epic and unique!
We should be able to tell who they are just by looking at them! Each would have a different name too.
And they should atleast be a bit bigger than us, players. To make them stand out as Bosses!

I had thought about making an extra option also for JUGG battles.

I like the idea, but it could be abused very easily. Two players in a premade team can prepare a deadly build combo, making the boss too easy.
...Then I thought about random matching partners when fighting those bosses. But then, since this would limited to a battle per day, as in my example, finding a partner would be next to impossible. Some would have already done their "Boss battle" of the day, or would not be doing it at the same time.
Also, the two players would have to be the same level...


It would be fun, but hard to implement it right.

I like this idea, it sounds like lots of fun!
Though, It would be very hard to put in-game and also take a long time if it did. I still reckon this is an excellent idea!
Once per day is enough, too many times and lots of people would get lots of prizes! How about 150 credits to enter? But the minimum credit prize is 150, so at least you don't get ripped off!

I would like to hear your thoughts on why you don't support.
From what I have seen in other suggestion threads, you just seem to jump in, and leave a "Not Supported" reply, without any fundament.

I'm really interested in feedback, be it negative or not.
We must defy, challenge the idea so we can discover it's weaknesses! Constructive feedback helps a lot in refining the idea and making it better.

I'm no programmer, but I believe we already have the tools for creating this Boss Arena. I don't know how much time it would take to implement, though.

And yes, winning should compensate for the amount paid, atleast. Even the smallest prize!

i definitely support this, they can make a NPC after me for cyber hunter :3, and the reason i support is because there needs to be alot of things to keep the players busy and also have fun at the same time, 1v1 is getting boring, no point of fighting george lowe after we get the cheevo, no point of fighting admin 11 after we have done the mission set by talia, no point of fighting armor hazard after we have done the missions and got the cheevo. and we need to let players of all levels have as much options in battle as we do, also the random bosses can test your skill and the small reward keeps you motivated to fight more.

Exactly! Serves both to test our skill, and, the randomness of the battle makes you think different every fight, which is a good experience!
It motivates the player to become better and try out new builds as well.

The reward, being a surprise instead of something expected, keeps the player interested in visiting the game more often, while it not being a time consuming thing.


Just a note for someone who might ask:
These Boss battles should not count for battle records, as they are a bit stronger than players or other NPCs.
Im sure some players would not even participate in them, due to the battles being random or harder, fearing a drop in their records%.

Supported, Lets me eat them! Nom Nom Nom! more Npc's - More fun - Random battle from 6 possible victims so i cannot specialise my build to one specific NPC when doing this, Epic stratagy and Gameplay required >.<

suppoted. everything that brings excitement and new experience in game is very well like. and 1 more thing, i like receiving rewards. may it be valuable or just a thing in my inventory. :-)

Indeed, it would be a new, exciting experience! And it would keep interesting even over the time, because the Boss fights would be challenging, and different every time. (And yes, rewards!)

If you guys think of any improvement for this idea, just say so!

I also think the rares drop chances should involve exclusive weapons/Armour.


Meaning only attainable through defeating the boss and obtaining the drop, not buy-able at anystore.


Just to give some items in the game significance, without having to be a really old item.

I cant believe I didn't write that when I made the original post. I forgot to mention that! I was so busy writing all the ideas and features, that in the end i forgot to put it there.

So Yes! the Rare rewards should be something EXCLUSIVE to the Arena-boss drops. These rewards cannot be bought, and must be obtained by defeating the boss.
(For example, weapons/armours with cool looks, only attainable though these bosses)



Of course, the Non-rare rewards, the common ones with higher drop rate, could include known items:

-broken or rusty weapons
-HP or EP boosters
-Always some credits (that could vary in amount)
-Token, credit, exp boosts (maybe?)
-Gems, or other selling items
-And other NEW ITEMS, to make it fresh!

They could share the same, or a similar build system and stats, the same way as players.

In the end, the bosses would be like stronger players, representing some of the best "gladiators" in Delta V, for example. They should be a real challenge.

Wow i think since omega is coming out and every stat point assigned to health counts as 1 health point they should make bosses follow the old 2 HP per 1stat point assigned and same for energy. just a thought and I realize this could lead to them being "not overpowered enough for a boss" i guess you can say but its just my opinion.
