for me I think there should be limit on them like 2 times a month as wait now it is so annoying how everyone jumps to next op class then that class gets nerf.

won't help people can just hold off on switching until the next class becomes OP there really isn't a way to stop it aside form flat out blocking builds and such

I think for a full class change - like between the 3 main branches, there should be a more time consuming method for class change... Something that would take at least a week of hardcore farming.

However, between the standard and evolved forms, I think there should be an even easier way to switch between the two classes. My idea is 1k varium or 50k credits to purchase the upgrade and then you can switch between the two for only 50 varium or 1k credits.

The reasoning is as follows: The starting classes have a generally even spread based on playing styles when you sign up for the game. Before class switching, there was an even amount of each class and people embraced their class and became better players. I think with class switching, too many players never understand all the capabilities of any given class and just jump to the next flavor-of-the-month using canned/copied builds. This lowers the overall skill of players and the quality of the gameplay.

Furthermore, people will get scared away from this game when they have to play pvp to advance but they have to face: 10 heal-looping TMs in a row, 10 support-abuse mercs in a row, 10 str-abuse BHs in a row, 10 uber-tank-smoke TLMs in a row... just to name a few of the OP build since beta.

If its harder to switch between classes, a player should on average fight an OP build one in every X battles, as opposed to 9 out of 10.

I disagree, i am a big class jumper.
I jump from classes after like 500 wins because i am bored of that class quick.

I dont jump because a class is OP, but because of boredness.
So if you do this, you are punishing people like me, without any reason.

So no, let it be like it is now, i pay for it so.

The "limit" is the cost, hence why you pay 50K Credits which take time to farm or 900 Varium which you must pay for (used to be 1.5K). These prices act like a limit to discourage class jumping unless you wanna pay for it using RL money or farm a lot of Credits.

I agree with Zion, jumping from class to an evolved one should be somehow different than changing to whole another class.

Or maybe all the classes could buy-able, but having a limit of 1000 (just an example) wins with a class before changing again.

I just think the limit or cost should be higher for total class switching and lower for partial class switching.

the current system is great as it is, and as trans stated it doesnt promote people having 20 class changes in a day because it messes up the server and data, also you will get a rewarding feeling once you achieve that goal of getting 50k credits and changing to a class you like most.

I am in favor of fully purchasing a class for 4,500 Varim / 250,000 Credits

A class change... pings the database from the server, and overwrites the new class information.

By the way was there not a time when Rabble or Nightwraith said that there was no database? If so when and who made one?



I support improved class changes. If the devies choose to develop their use of the calendar functions of Flash and AS to limit things to time, we could have a smooth system moderating things like class changes and names too. Limiting a class change to 45 days for example allows 6 weeks for the devies to balance the overpowered and underpowered classes while those people that switched to the overpowered class must stay in that class until their time-limit expires. Run on, run on.

I agree with Mysterion., the current system is fine, 50000 credits isn't too much or too little an amount to grind, so the prices are fine. Also , the current system is perfect imo cuz it discourages people from class-hopping all the time, kinda influences you to just stick with a class :P although i do get bored after a while...

@depressed void even though they didnt mention it doesn't mean it does not exist.
and free class change is ridiculous, limiting it to 45 days is also not a good idea, since it is about your freedom to use a feature in ED but to not overuse it, so there is a reason for a cost to them, and the data blah blah.....
so it should stay this way.

Your "freedom" to use the feature as you call it is already limited by varium or credits. Without varium you have to play EpicDuel enough to get the credits to class change.

@above yup, you are free to use it as long as you got varium and credits to spare, it is only possible for a millionaire to overuse it even with a decent cost.

I was changing classes cause I was getting bored of my current one quickly. Maybe if there was more moves for every class, more uniqueness.
Maybe Omega will improve that. Also I think that class change should be cheaper. Its just a class change.

I think the current 900 / 50,000 price is pretty good, but i really would like to see the option to permanently unlock a class for 4,500 varium or 250,000 credits.

But as a player worried about the long term success I disagree with that idea.


I think giving people an option to switch around even easier may just complicate things further on for balance in the future.

It wouldn't complicate things, it would give faster feedback data on everything if the heavy players were constantly changing class.

If they all suddenly change to one class and get absurd win rates, that class is probably overpowered.

^ Problem is the devs hardly act on the data they get quick enough or good enough.


OH str builds are a problem? Allow as to nerf every other type of builds to make them worse...
Oh TLMs are oped? Allow us to wait 6 months before finally changing them big enough to bring them down to an evenish level.


At least if they have some restrictions on hopping it wont be extremely painfull every time balance goes down the drain.

There is still a restriction... It would cost over 100 dollars to unlock every class. That's nearly double the price of a retail game.

Not supported. People would just purchase all the classes, and then when the next OP build comes they will jump to it for free since they own the class. The way it is now is to discourage class jumping.

ppl already jumping to OP classes, actually it will be better for the other classes cause we can try builds for free. Instead of trying builds and possibly lose tons of varium and credits, ppl just change to OP class with spending 900 var/50k credz

problem is if you add that feature, everyone who wants to change class is almost forced to do it that method because it may save them money in the long run.

so your also forcing players to pay $100 to a degree, aswell as hardly adding much of an restriction at least IMO
