With low HP strength builds are going to overkill. This really isn't good. Does anybody else worry about this?

They are also going to up the base stats because of this for all the classes as well. I remember it being said in older posts by the staff and mods. With this being done it won't hurt as much with stats as well since with the upping of base stats it will make up for smoke of the the things they will take away.

the lower health they have, the more dangerous it will be for them. they will be even more vulnerable to blocks
and deflections. one tiny bit of luck in their opponents favor and they lose. strategic builds will be much more
effective. have you tried using a low hp ultra strength build recently? you dont win. high hp, sure. however,
one stat point will only give one health or energy in omega.

You don't know the full changes thus this isn't a balance issue. Lycus said before that discussing balance based on speculations is weird, it's pretty much as if you were to make up stuff and apply it as you wish. Until changes go in-game and we have full info in regards how all of the stats will be changed, this isn't a balance issue.

Alright. Depending on how they handle this in Omega, I may or may not make this topic again. But since this is all based on speculation, I request this to be deleted or locked.

The things is , that won't change the current issue we have :

OFFENSIVE > DEFENSIVE <--- routines

But that new overhaul ? I disagree on it bringing balance , because HP , unlike the other stats , can't be in a fixed amount when reduced and "buffed" .

Well, generally, this stops the HP abuse in str builds so it doesn't compensate for their low defenses. Basically, they're going to have to increase defenses to survive or they will die in a matter of turns. Don't worry, I remember that thee base HP and EP was getting increased by 20 though.

It doesn't automatically make you have low hp. ( I wish people would stop saying HP will be LOWER!)
It just means you need to sacrifice more stats for high hp, and if not suffer the disadvantages off having low hp.

Try to think of follow up occurrences such as,

Effective STR builds for instance almost always need high-ish hp in order to continue attacking more turns and further improve the passive bloodlust.

This means the STR builds need to have high hp and the follow up is they need to sacrifice more stat points which means their damage output will be reduced to acceptable levels.





People need to start thinking more then just the face-slappingly obvious effects.

Remorse:

HP will be lower on average. 110 HP will be equal to what used to be a 150 HP build. You will need to use 50 stats to get 110 HP. Thats more than 1/3 of your stats. And the advantage of having "more" hp (such as 110) will be very low, because damage will be the same. Any way you look at it, its not good. Either (1) HP will stay the same, and battles will be far shorter than they are now (less defense etc. = shorter battle) or (2) HP will be much lower, and battles will be much faster then they are now (lower HP = faster battle). Either way, battles will be much faster, and luck will have a much greater effect. I suggest the staff uses the communities vastly supported idea, and make HP grow by level.

I have brought this up many, many, many times, and every time people are like "ERMAGHARD YOU DON'T GET IT", but really, its they who don't get it. Glad to see someone else understands.

The fact of the matter is a lot of builds NEED highish hp.


Builds that require to get as many attacks in as they can before they need to start playing defensive or heal NEED high hp, and in most cases those builds are the HARD hitters because they put all their effort into alot of attacks and high attacks before needing to heal or die etc.


This means they would have a lot less power, this means their damage would be equally as low as defenses which means that battles will be the same speed if not slower.


And it also means that if damage before deduction from armour is lower, but total damage is similar because armour is also lowed. The effect would be crits are less power full because there is less damage that is ignoring armour, it also means blocks are less game breaking because it is less total damage being blocked.

So in my opinion the impact of luck will be lowered.



Yes some build will have low HP and powerful attacks but, similar to low level fights I find that once the low hp glass cannons use all thier attacks and HAVEN'T finished of their opponent because they had highish HP they are extremely vulnerable.

Plus it would help to revive things like shields because shielding the powerful attacks from the low HP builds if your a high hp but less stat build would help you survive their quick burst
