I understand the reason for scaling the packs is to encourage users to buy the larger packs, but if the scaling wasn't quite as steep, you would have players being more willing to buy the lower packs.

Very good idea. Especially after enhancements release I have believed that if you can't afford the 10k pack, you'd better stay away from varium in the first place.
Although during Beta both top packages were a good deal.

The $35 package has taken quite a hit since beta. It used to be all promos were availible with $50 or $35, but it is currently only the top packages that come with such awesome items. Thirty five dollars once made me a founder, which came with many exclusive items and benefits, we need deals that can give those who buy lower packs a fighting chance because they still support the game.
