quote:

Signature dimensions are 500 pixels wide x 100 pixels tall. Using quote or spoiler tags makes your signature too wide.

Could this be changed?

I did some investigating. First off, the 500 pixel limit is probably for 800x600 screens. If the forum is in a browser with a scrollbar on the right in the normal flat style in that resolution, then a quote takes up 530 pixels (therefore, the limit is 530 pixels before an image starts to stretch the page at that resolution). This makes sense to limit this at 500 for images.

But quotes and text are different. They wrap themselves at the page limit so they can never stretch the page. Perhaps the requirements could be slightly changed?

I am in support of such a proposal, however, I think that while that may be the primary reason (after all, the first 2 AE games were released when flatscreen LCDs were only coming into popular usage and most of them would have had a max. resolution of 1280 x 1024) but another reason I can think of is that signatures that are any longer would potentially serve as too much of a distraction.
