Suggesting Doom Server opened for testing- for Testers and players. Win records do not count there.

Just a rough idea though.

The game team chooses 100 players that get to log in to Doom Server and test those suggestions on the forums.

The reason for this is because I think the devs might think it too risky to try those suggestions hanging there at the ED Balance and ED Suggestions sections. However, it can still be locked for official Testers only under some circumstances, up to them. Hopefully it speeds up the time needed to bring ED up to another level close to "Balance". It's just taking too slow.

What are your thoughts?

I'm sure they have their own private server with their own testers, but I guess I support this?...

Pulling a quote from Practel that sufficiently addresses and explains the reasoning for this not being implemented.

Alrighty guys...

There are several issues with having a PTR server, or a testing server in general for the public.

Firstly, nothing is set in stone. Everything is completely changeable and unfortunately with this community, everyone isn't as receptive even with the disclaimer.

Secondly, having 500+ people trying to test one thing will either cause incredible stress on the dev team and/or the server. Though you may not believe it, every battle that takes place on the dev server is documented to trace bugs. If 500 battles are going on, there is no way to accurately track bugs. Also, a majority of the people who are on will probably be fooling around with the new features rather than testing.

Thirdly, there are special routines in which testers test, and training a tester takes at least a minimum of 2-3 weeks to get somewhat set and stone. It's just not viable.

We aren't looking for testers to quickly test something and that's it, we have testers for quality assurance, balance, bugs, story, and everything else in a weekly release.

This is not up for debate.

Locked.

Secondly, there are a ton of amazing people who have recently been inducted into the testing team. The number of people testing currently should and is not an issue.

Lastly, suggestions are generally looked at by ALL staff members - developers, moderators, testers, ArchKnights and everyone in between. While not all are replied to, they are definitely read. There are several reasons as to why some suggestions are held back and not implemented immediately - backend changes that take priority, or maybe a fix to a game breaking bug. There's a lot of work done that takes the time, but they are definitely not forgotten.

Specifically with balance, you'll likely be seeing Rabble more often to discuss this topic with you and other players.

Locking up.
