For 350 Credits or 25 Varium you should have the option to put in an active core that is only usable once.
When you use it it's gone, just like a booster.

This would allow people to test out cores in battle, or swap cores for a specific boss without spending huge amounts of credits.
After 20 uses, you start spending more credits than it would have taken to just buy the core outright. This seems like a very reasonable number to me.

You could use it for that, but that's not the primary purpose. You can generally tell if you want a core just by looking at it without needing to sample it.

i support this, or something along the lines.

or just make changing core slots cheaper, than repurchasing a new one (50%?)
