***THIS IS AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, A RETELLING OF AQWORLDS CHAOS SAGA IN A DARKER WAY. THE HERO (YOUR CHARACTER IN-GAME) DOES NOT EXIST IN MY TIMELINE***
Chapter One - Swordhaven, The "Final" Battle
- ATTACK! - Screamed Sepulchure, starting the attack on Swordhaven.
- THEROG, I WANT YOU COMADING OUR TROOPS IN THE FIELD RIGHT NOW!
- Yes, my Emperor!
Therog, the current general of Shadowscythe's troops, ran to the frontline, battling and commanding the troops. The fight was intense. Therog's troops succefully entered Swordhaven, totally breaching King Alteon's defenses. While the battle waged on the ground, Gravelyn watched, hidden, in Shadowfall, Shadowscythe's Flying Fortress.
- King Alteon has no hope of winning this... LONG UN-LIVE THE SHADOWSCYTHE! - Said Gravelyn, cheering.
It was a matter of minutes until Shadowscythe's forces entered King Alteon's Castle. The battle was already won, there was only the need of a final blow. Therog fought, using the wind and the lightning, killing hundreds of soldiers on the way. Sepulchure was fighting by Therog's side, and called him.
- STAY HERE AND KEEP OUR GROUND. I AM GOING IN, TIME TO END THIS BATTLE FOREVER!
Sepulchure ran, absolutely destroying any Good Soldier that dared to attack him. After so many years, there it was. The last thing on the way to end the Good vs Evil conflict. King Alteon's fortified door.
- BREAK THIS THING RIGHT NOW, UNDEAD!
King Alteon heard Sepulchure's voice, and so the undead started smashing the door. As his only final hope, King Alteon asked.
- Bring my sword right now. Don't try to fight Sepulchure, run for your lives. We lost, friends... we lost.
The door was destroyed, and so Sepulchure entered the room, with 2 undead minions following him. They laughed, and so, King Alteon rose from his throne, grabbing his sword.
- HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, YOU'RE DEAD, ALTEON! LONG UN-LIVE THE SHADOWSCYTHE!
Sepulchure ran and tried to deliver one blow with his Undead Blade. King Alteon got hit and was thrown on the ground with the impact. Sepulchure jumped, with his sword in hands, trying to finish Alteon on the ground. Alteon rolled and dodged the attack, taking his sword, and attacked Sepulchure. Sepulchure defended, and the final battle waged. Gravelyn watched the battle, hoping that her father would win. But something was wrong... and Therog felt it. There was another being of great strength in Swordhaven, that didn't fight for Good nor Evil. And thus, that being showed itself, on the skies. He flew to where the final battle between Alteon and Sepulchure was happening, destroying the wall, taking both Alteon and Sepulchure on surprise. Gravelyn saw it, and so did Therog. He felt the being' power, and he could sense that neither Alteon or Sepulchure could defeat him easily. The battle was compromised. Therog ran to aid Sepulchure in the battle, but it was hopeless.
- WHAT? WHO ARE YOU, WORM? - Asked Sepulchure to the mysterious being.
The being slowly walked away from the shadows, revealing it's face. It was Drakath.
- DRAKATH? - Both asked.
Both Alteon and Sepulchure were surprised by Drakath's return, and so, Drakath attacked both with a mysterious power. Alteon flew to the wall because of the impact, while Sepulchure resisted it. He slowly walked into Drakath's direction.
- YOU FILTHY TRAITOR, HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE AGAIN? NO MATTER... YOU'RE ALREADY DEAD!
Sepulchure jumped, trying to deliver an aerial attack on Drakath, who simply punched Sepulchure's torso, knocking him to the opposite wall.
- The battle between Good and Evil is over. Brace yourselves... for the AGE OF CHAOS.
- CHAOS? HAHAHAHAHA! WORM, YOU CAN'T KILL ME. I AM SEPULCHURE! I AM UNDEAD! THE EMPEROR OF SHADOWSCYTHE!
Sepulchure rose and started walking in Drakath's direction, with what was left of his strength.
- Really now?
Drakath flew to Sepulchure, opening some kind of portal in his chest, taking Sepulchure's heart into his hand, and then, destroying it. Sepulchure's armor fell apart, and Gravelyn watched, in horror, what was happening.
- NO! FATHEEEEEEEEEEEEEER! - Screamed Gravelyn, in tears.
Drakath heard the scream, slowly walking to the edge of the destroyed wall, and saw Gravelyn. When Therog finally got there, he also had heard Gravelyn's scream, and soon after, saw Drakath, who then turned to his direction.
- You are his new general, aren't you? Well... your Emperor is gone. You should care about your Empress... Hehehe...
Drakath created an orb of Chaos in his hand, throwing it at Shadowfall, which went into a collision course against a mountain. And so, Drakath flew away from Swordhaven, laughing. His laughs echoed through the city.
- GRAVELYN, NO!
Therog's only action was to run away from the battle to search for Shadowfall, but first, he took Sepulchure's Undead Blade with him. Then, he left Alteon and Sepulchure's armor behind.
- MINIONS! WITH ME! WE ARE RETREATING!
Therog took what was left of Shadowscythe's army with him, taking them to the collapsed Shadowfall. And then, Artix appeared in Alteon's throne room.
- King Alteon?! Are you alright?
Artix ran to Alteon, who still layed on the ground, chaorrupted.
- I feel... strange... Artix. Their... general is gone... - Alteon said, with great difficulty.
- And he took what was left of Shadowscythe's army with him too. - Said Artix, with soem relief.
- That's... good. Protect... my people. I... really have to... to rest. Take me to... to the healer.
- Of course, your Highness.
Artix called everyone that was close to help get Alteon to the healer. Swordhaven was crumbling, with almost everything destroyed.
Days passed since the fall of Swordhaven, and the city was almost completly rebuilt. And, while that happened, Therog finally reached Shadowfall, who even after collapsing, still has minions protecting it. Therog then ran to find Gravelyn, but was halted by the minions guarding her.
- Let him pass and leave us. - Said Gravelyn.
Therog, then, kneeled.
- My Empress. It's a relief to see that you and Shadowfall are fine.
- Therog... you know you don't have to call me Empress. We're still friends. Please, call me Gravelyn.
- Of course... Gravelyn.
- Now... stand up.
Therog stood still.
- How did this happen, Therog? We were so close, SO close to destroy Alteon... and then that... that traitor appeared out of nowhere. Who the...
Gravelyn sighed.
- Who the hell was he? - She asked.
- His name is Drakath... I heard him saying something about a new age... the "Age of Chaos".
- Chaos?
- I don't exactly know what he meant with that... but he did control an unusual power... I've never seen it before.
- Therog...
Gravelyn sighed again.
- While you were gone, I heard news about Mobius. They say that... everything there is reversed. Literally. And my source says that this... Drakath... is involved in it. And I want us to go there, investigate what is happening.
- But Gravelyn, I'm the general of your army. Wouldn't it be better if I stayed to take care of them?
- That won't be a problem. I talked to some... "friends" of mine here. They will take care of the army. I want to go with you to Mobius.
- What? B-but, Gravelyn, don't you have more important things to do?
- Hah, I sorted everything out while you were gone. And now that you brought me my army back, I have nothing to worry about anymore. At least for now. Listen, Therog. I want revenge. I WANT to kill Drakath, and I WILL. And if these news about Mobius are true, then I WANT to be there. With you. WE WILL BRING THIS "CHAOS" AND DRAKATH DOWN. BOTH OF US.
- Long un-live the Shadowscythe!
- Always.
- Oh, I almost forgot. I though that maybe you would like to have it back. - Said Therog.
Therog then took Sepulchure's Blade from his back, giving it to Gravelyn.
- Thank you...
She looked at the blade, recalling some memories of Sepulchure and her.
- Anyway... let's go. I'm already equipped.
- I'm following your lead, Gravelyn.
And so they left the crumbled Shadowfall, to investigate the news about Mobius, and most especially, see if Drakath really is really involved with them.
