Do you know what a notan is? If no, Wikipedia is your friend.

I made some for fun and thought I could post them here! Notans are, in my opinion at least, a very cool form of art. (though don't expect a Ragsrun level of awesomeness in this gallery. :P )

The images shown are only small previews (like Subon does, I think it's a great idea) of the real images. (I have no clue on how to reduce the weight of images.) Click on them!

First one, Vaal.

Azan, if any of us could reach Ragsrun level, heck, if even one of us could reach Ragsrun level, then the world might explode. That much talent is probably lethal. Probably

@Flashbang So direct and to the point!

To elaborate on what Flashbang said, using more than 3 words, I would say that your art is really unique and special, and that I hope you continue making and sharing it on the forums for us to enjoy!

And yeah, I agree about that much talent being probably lethal. It does not help that her three most recent shown NPCs will probably be slaughtered in today's quest. xD

Constructively Discussional!


 This is a perfect example of why I enjoy the DF Art Gallery - for non-artixtic (I actually typed that first so I'm going to leave it. Pun intended) folk like myself, I actually get to learn about art! So to you I now know that Notans aren't just how I would describe my skin

In all seriousness though, I really like what you've done. I'm going to take a guess and say that it's white paper on black paper cut with scissors? If so...that sounds so tedious that I have no choice but to genuinely respect you for the patience and delicacy that you must have possessed while creating Vaal.

I was honestly amused for about 2 minutes straight just inverting and reverting the colour scheme of my computer, so that left-Vaal's face turned black, etc. I can't wait to lose myself (and my time) doing the same for Notans of NPCs or anything you decide to post in the future!

Great work and I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next!

Thank you for your comments, Shadows, Subon and Rayen! It's very appreciated to get nice feedback like that!

Subon: Yeah, I see what line you mean... I wanted to cut it with an exacto, but it was just too small. Vaal's face could have been ripped away if I cut that. (and I don't want Vaal angry after me. He could perform Tanislav's Last Will around my house!)

I just read it. Fun stuff indeed . If it ever continues I'll recommend you adding the dongers .

Sooo... totally not a notan, but it does count as fanart, heh? So I'm posting it here for posterity's sake.
