Frozen Fury Returns

Even though it's still 90 degrees at the lab, this Friday we will be returning all of our Winter content to EpicDuel. Visit Edgar Booth and Torgan and The Endless in Frysteland to get Winter gear from years past, including last year's Frozen Fury Gear (now available for credits).
For those who need a refresher on what cores will be available, here's a quick refresher:
Primary Cores

  • Yeti Fury (Equipped to Frozen Fury Destroyer and Scythe)
    • Mutate into a Yeti Hulk to deal 105% damage with 40% lifesteal. Usable below 25% health.

Bot Cores

  • Ice Shield (Cyber Yeti)
    • Grants 100% Block and Deflect chance for 2 turns.

Auxiliary Cores

  • Hair Trigger (Equipped to Frozen Fury Annihilator)
    • Do a mini-Rage equal to the percent of Rage you currently have available.

Sidearm Core

  • Icy Overkill (Equipped to Frozen Fury Blaster)
    • Overload your gun, ignoring 35% of target’s defenses. This renders your gun unusable for the remainder of battle.

Armor Cores

  • Absorption (Equipped to Blood Hawk Armor)
    • When attacked by a bot, increase your Energy by 50% of the damage taken.
    ]

  • Spirit Thorns (Equipped to Blood Hawk Armor)
    • Lower attacker’s energy by 50% of damage dealt to you. Lasts 3 turns.

Miscellaneous Cores (not included in Megapacks)

  • Whiteout (Available for sale on Vendbots and Torgan in Frysteland)
    • Summon a blizzard to disorient your enemies, covering their skills in ice and snow. Deals 110% damage

More Classics Return!
Spaceships, baby yetis, and polar bear mutations will also return to get you in the seasonal spirit (at least if you live in the Northern Hemisphere)!

All of these items are just a prelude to the return of Winter gift-giving!

New Winter Gear Preview!
While BioBeasts development is nearing completion, our Guest Artists are creating some truly awesome Winter gear that will be "must-haves" this season!

I'm liking some of the core activatables. The fact they have interesting downsides or risky conditions (below 25% hp only for example). Not sure if these cores are already in game or not but I like the design mentality. I think these types of cores will truly shine as they continue down the path and build decesions become challenging and impactful. Top stuff.

Just to clarify, these cores were actually introduced last year.

But they are still amazing cores design-wise and I'm glad they are becoming available for credits this year.

^Awesome. I think this goes to show the potential cores can have for creativity. Though i still wait for the day when cores have better synergy with skills and passives benefitting niche builds.

I think it would be worth going back and updating some older cores to follow the same design mentality of upsides with downsides leading to more interesting counter play. For example the old cores that simply increase primary damage and are unblockable are bad for the game ( my opinion) as they have little counterplay nor interesting interactions.

Didn't they nerf Yeti Fury to 105% damage? Did they buff it now to 115% damage?

Awesome! I'm just waiting for the gifting event to get one of the new armors and cyber yeti. Hopefully there's a hidden core that would be unlocked by doing the missions. (Not Eternal Enhance/Protection)

Those armors don't look so bad! Might buy one or two, perhaps some winter seasonal rare weapons as well. I'll have to wait until the gifting event to be able to buy those though, pretty low on credits.

@Darkwing

Yes, you're correct. The damage for Yeti Fury was decreased to 105%, it was also made unblockable - and I see no reason as to why they would change it now. If I recall correctly, Spirit Thorns duration was also changed to 4 turns. The cores description Nightwraith posted are quite outdated.
