Sorry if this is the wrong section... But I just got an idea. Bio beasts has been paying very attractive models and such to pose with bio beasts on their phone and that is why theyre getting some downloads.
So when I saw those beautiful women 'playing' biobeasts a lightbulb popped up from above my head. Why not pay models to pose playing epicduel?! We all know most people on ed are teenage boys and there is nothing teenage boys enjoy more than hot girls other than video games. Hot girls + video game (ED) = ED is famous again! Maybe throw in some hot guy models too for maximum player base,

Cliche marketing isn't going to revitalize this game.
Fixing the problems and putting in a compelling product will.

Look, i don't want to be a whiny or anything but, the clear and simple reason why players leave ED is because of these 3 reasons mainly.

1. Imbalance
2. No new Features
3. Lots of good features removed. (This mainly applies to the old players)

Taking your suggestion might get some attention, but it wont help when players face these issue later and than do the obvious... Quit!

If they don't fix the Dex BHs soon, like in the next year or so, then everybody will be playing as a BH. And if players are mostly eight-year-olds or teenagers going through puberty, then I will definitely agree with this idea. They should also be wearing Legion costumes sometimes so that they can recruit some players to join the Legion so that it will be more fair during wars.

Yeah, I said I hate Dex BHs, but if players want to win, they'll come.

And once ED becomes good again, this type of advertising will definitely attract new players.

Haha I suggested ED to a guy friend and he hates it. items are costly, he keeps dying from people with varium cored weapons, and everyones stat spamming. The games just bad. Everythings overpriced.

Haha, this is one of the funniest ideas I've heard in a while. But even this wouldn't work, people would probably start quitting after playing for only a little while. This game is not for casual players at all, the amount of farming you have to do to simply buy one weapon is ridiculous. All of the items are insanely overpriced, literally everyone uses the same stat abuse builds on a daily basis. The only builds you see now is Sup Tac Merc, Dex BH, Str BM, Tech CH, or Tech Tech Mage while the Merc class is nearly nonexistent due to being the weakest nowadays since they have the weakest energy gaining/energy stealing skill in the whole game and everything is so highly dependent on energy usage nowadays. On top of this, the game lacks the content to be engaging and interesting enough after all these years. I'm not hating on the game itself or the devs but I'm just stating what I think most people would agree with, all there is to do is PVP (which is very fun and the main point of the game, but it is very unbalanced and predictable which lessens the fun), NPC if you loosing badly in PVP (which doesn't give nearly the same amount of rewards and is limited to 100 per day), and do a lot of missions which all revolve around the unbalanced PVP, fighting limited amounts of NPCs or having to use even more credits to completely change your build or cores to fight certain boss NPCs, or doing the tag-team battles against a single boss. I just don't think this game is capable of attracting that much more new players in it's current state.

ED, just like other browser games, has no longer the potential to attarct new players, thanks to many factors said not once but quadzillion times by devs and other staff members, even players. All of what they've said has been confirmed by experts, when numbers and statistics talk, there isn't really much room left for "Opinions" or for speculating other causes.

So you can put ED ad in the superbowl ad section, and that still wouldn't attract many players, same thing can be said for a PS1 game, or a very old console game, they no longer attract new players because their era is over. Sure ED, unlike these games can improve through updates, but these updates are limited to Flash (Console in this case), a dead engine, therefore the devs can't do much.

Browser games reached the point of no return, it's a new era, of multi-platform games, mobile games, evolving consoles and whatnot. ED has potential, sure, but that potential can only be exploited if the game is transferred to another engine. Bring models, strippers, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian, anyone in your mind to advertise the game, and nope, it won't come back.

@IsaiahTheMage
The removal of passives killed off a lot of build creativity. Now it just seems like stat spam w/e class you were unfortunate to have after the Omega update.

Yup, its the hole they dug themselves in.
They stripped the game of a lot of features and the PvE aspects of it.
By doing this, they put the onus solely on PvP, and with balance being bad, it makes the game look bad since it fails to do the job right at the only thing it focuses on.
AQW has bad balance in PvP as well, but they have tons more features and a large PvE aspect to the game, so a lot of players can let that slide because the game has more stuff to make up for its shortcomings. ED does not.

The next thing about this game is how expensive it is to be a premier player.
In AQW, a 1 year membership is under $60. Which is about the same or less than console memberships.
In ED, a $50 pack doesn't last you very long, let alone a year.

New players see this within hours, and they realize how expensive it is to be a premier player, so they're gonna move on to something else.
The pricing that they use, they wouldn't be able to get away with it in mobile games. Very few games can get away with it, such as Fifa. ED has nowherre near the reach or fame as a title like Fifa.

@Lord
I have to both agree and disagree here.

I Disagree that browser games no longer have potential or generate interest. I personally would still prefer browser over mobile.

And I agree that mobile games are definitely on the rise (Mainly due to large amounts of casual players), and this is causing browser games to be the monkey in the middle.
The main reason being that mobile devices are now powerful enough to replicate the same quality as PC browser games.
While browser games are nowhere near to client based PC games. (This is why I dont expect AQ 3D to do well, since a second rate client MMO in terms of graphics would do better)

The industry is definitely changing with Mobile devices on the rise for low-end games, Client based games and Virtual Reality for high-end.
I think it'll no longer have that middle ground like before.

As for porting the game over to a new engine, At this point, I would just pull the plug and make a new game entirely. Maybe use some similar art and offer ED players substantial bonuses in the new game if they bought promos in ED.
I dont think the interest for the game is there to warrant porting it over (Unless it was very easy and not very time consuming to do) and continue making updates for it anymore.

Statistics do not say that 100% of players/gamers/individuals prefer mobile games, sure some like browser games, but we are talking about exceptions here.
You can't say X thing is good or bad just because of your own experience/preferences, hence why surveys are made, and the surveys results say that browser games, especially MMOs and RPGs no longer generate enough interest to attract players for the long term.
I'm not talking about agar.io, or other simple flash games, those are meant for kids, even kids now are using apps to learn and have fun. ED and the games that are in the same category are not meant to entertain kids for 30 minutes. ED is a strategical game that needs to generate more interest than simple flash games, in other words, making players come back the next day. ED do not have the potential to do that, at least, in its current state, and with the raise of mobile games.

Hah, honestly in the "old days" ED was filled with intelligent, slightly older people. This game is different since Math and such plays a very large role.

Now, (and I can't judge this 100% accurately) this game is filled with 4th Graders with their parents credit card. It no longer requires as much skill to win, just money to buy all these "special weapons" therefore I'd assume ED did in fact pick up a few younger kids.

I mean the manner, and decorum of ED has dropped but eh that's what you got to live with. Or you could always quit.

What would be the difference between now and before if you need cash now for powerful cores or for op weapons in the older days. I believe one factor that has dropped EpicDuel is that is no actually fun or achievement in this game whatsoever. You attain every single weapon there is no restrictions as you can just buy stuff with varium. Atleast back then there was a level requirement so you couldnt just pick up the best item possible. What can you achieve present time lets go through this list

-Level up - Oh wow I get to spend 2k to upgrade weapons and achieve nothing
-Achievements - I have stars under my character that I can brag about cool
-Weapons - No requirements you can get them at level 1 with varium
-Leader boards - (Daily is an achievement. Pointless) All time is far gone
-Fame - The dumbest thing I have ever seen in the history of a game
-Rarity - Goes along with achievements

A point about stat "abuse" builds, single stat builds aren't the problem, the lack of variety among the skills those builds use is the problem, along with being able to ineffectively balance the survivability and damage output of stats vs other stats due to flat numbers being used for damage reduction.

I mean, isn't that typically how it's meant to work in most games? You pick a main stat, pump it up, then get as little of everything else that you can while still remaining effective.
Increasing HP increases survivability at the cost of damage, increasing Energy increases damage at the cost of survivability. Increasing your main stat increases damage and survivability by a middle amount.

Then, you pick your skills to determine how you play your chosen stat.
The problem is that there are so few skills for each stat that there is only really one and occasionally two ways to play a stat. There are also no passives to differentiate builds that use the same stat.

The problem isn't the idea of choosing a main stat and focusing on it, it's that when you decide to do that you basically end up locked into one specific build and have no real choices.

Well if you want to hear exactly why I believe people are really quitting (my opinion of course) is the lack of innovation and incentives. You guys absolutely butchered the game balancing with the way low levels can use the most op weapons.

Like many others said, EpicDuel is a almost 10 year old flash browser game, do you really think it's going to last that long? Sure it was a great money sink at one time and AE saw the potential in that which is why they bought it out. It had it's run but even AE knows it's dangling from its last limb.

I don't think that would work I mean of course it would work but most likely it will only work for a short time because epicduel is a almost 10 year old flash browser game like @Actual said and everyone is abandoning browser plugins which browser games run on so even though it was a great money sink at one time which was the reason why AE bought it epicduel is dangling from it's last thread since it uses flash web player and lacks functionality and balance. At this point I think they would be better off rebuilding epicduel as a brand new game but using a new game engine that is more relevant. But even if having girls play epicduel to showcase the game to get more players to join won't keep players hooked on for long soon as they see the lack of functionality and balance will probably make most players wanna quit after a short time. I think their best bet is rebuilding epicduel from scratch using a more relevant game engine like unity or cryengine or unreal engine or some type of game engine that isn't a flash web player because in my opinion I think flash web player needs to get be discontinued and given a end of life date it's laggy and it has so many security flaws.

Also, epicduel doesn't have much in terms of fanservice in game.
If you're going to advertise with girls, your game needs to also contain them in order for it to be relevant marketing.
Think Blade & Soul or Vindictus.

Epicduel just needs to be remade.
