Riddle of the Sphinxes

Location: Battleon » Warlic's Shop » Mastercraft Sets » Osiris Set!
«A desert is shown as the ground shakes. On the third most powerful shake, a pyramid rises from afar in the background, shooting a beam of light upwards for a moment. Scene changes to Warlic's shop where Warlic is sitting down by his table, reading. Then, an image of the pyramid appears above his head. He looks up from his book at the moment.»
Warlic: (thinking)That... power. There's something familiar about it. I know there's something in my archives about a cursed pyramid.
«The scene fades to black.»
You receive an urgent message from Warlic, asking you to meet him at his shop in Battleon.
«You appear in Battleon and Warlic comes up holding seven scrolls in his hands.»
«You»: Warlic! I read your message and was on my way to your shop. Seem to have your hands full there.
Warlic: Yes, «You». I had to see you as soon as possible. I had a vision of an ancient evil and I've been tearing through my archives.
Warlic: My vision was of a pyramid rising up somewhere in Skraeling Desert. After searching through my scrolls, I have found a legend involving a pyramid.
Warlic: Ages ago, there ruled a powerful deity of Light - Amun Ra. He was loved by his people for the light and warmth he granted them.
Warlic: The high priest Ammon had a grand pyramid built to honor Amun Ra. So pleased was the diety, he adorned the high priest in wondrous armor and weapons.
Warlic: Sadly Ammon's heart was not of pure intentions. Believing he was now equal with Amun Ra...
Warlic: ...he used the pyramid as his own personal palace, guarding the entrance with fierce Sphinxes.
«You»: Ouch, bad move.
Warlic: Indeed. Disgusted by the corruption of his gifts, Amun Ra cursed the priest, entombing him in the pyramid and sinking the pyramid into the desert sands.
Warlic: That is where the legend ends, «You». Nothing else is written of Amun Ra, the people, anything. It's as if their entire existence vanished beneath the sands of the Skraeling.
«You»: ....and this pyramid just appeared? How is that possible?
Warlic: I can only assume the curse must have weakened-- which could mean the high priest Ammon roams the desert as we speak! You must assure that does not happen!
«You»: So do I wander the Skraeling Desert until I find the pyramid? That sounds like a lot of walking in the searing heat.
«A small blue and gold with black limbs and red eyes appear. It immediately starts flying in place.»
Warlic: This scarab will guide you to the pyramid's entrance. Make haste, «You», and do not let it fly too far ahead of you or you will be lost in the desert.
Warlic: The entrance may well still be guarded by the unforgiving Sphinxes. I cannot be sure but you must be prepared for ANYTHING.
Warlic: We are dealing with ancient, long-forgotten evils.
«The scarab flies off.»
You follow the scarab, buzzing through forest and across open plains, as you reach the searing lands of the Skraeling Desert.

«The scarab flies off to the pyramid.»
«You»: (thinking)Finally! That scarab's revealed the pyramid's location! I better hurry after it.
«The screen changes to a down panning view of the pyramid, revealing 2 sphinxes guarding the entrance.»
Sphinx(Left): What do we have here?
Sphinx(Right): Sister, is it a morsel come to nourish us?
Sphinx(Left): Yes sister! A plump wanderer! We will feast for days!
«You»: Hey, not cool! I don't care how hungry you are, calling people plump is rude. I'm not here to feed anyone!
Sphinx(Left): You seek an audience with Ammon?
Sphinx(Right): Passage through the pyramid of Amun Ra?
Sphinx(Left): If so, then your worth must be proven.
Sphinx(Right): No one proceeds without answering the riddles of the Sister Sphinx.
«You»: And what if I don't like riddles?
Sphinx(Left): Then we'll see how human tastes with that new sriracha barbecue sauce! Yum!
Bag that sisters, I don't have time for riddles!I'll answer your riddles!Sphinx(Left): Forever rising, to reach the skies. To never lower it implies.
