Varium for rating points

What are your thoughts on varium only cheevos with loads of rating points? Please share with the community.

I've seen on Twitter some people really got fired up over it, calling it fake rating and so on, rating points are a main goal in the game for some players.

I was annoyed that I had to pay varium twice (Merc-->BH-->Merc) just for the Class Master achievement when the class change was released. I disliked shortening my name and paying varium just for the Master of Disguise achievement, but I wasn't going to pay twice on this one. I didn't like those kinds of achievement then and I don't like them now.

But, at least those achievements were tied to something. These new ones are straight up pay for rating points. At this point I don't really care anymore, there is no turning back and if devs can generate some extra sales with these kinds of achievements, they should keep it up. With all weapons being the same, some of the "end game" people probably value achievements more than the promotional weapons. Devs might as well start bundling achievements with the promotions or make some achievement only promotions with smaller varium packages.

Usually in any game, achievements are awarded upon players hard work, and everyone has a fair chance to earn them, but not in ED. The Dev's are aware and so are players about the current status of the game.

Anyway.. The damage is done. There's no going back now. Not even if they update regularly with more and more pointless weapons.


The only and only smart thing to do is make a new ED game compatible on all devices. AQ3D set a good example, even though the game is boring af.

Personally I truly dislike the way it has become now. Originally those kind of cheevo's were at least tied to something like name changing, class changing, or even a reward for purchasing a package/item during a specific event such as the start of the infernal war were you got the infernal slayer cheevo for getting the infernal slayer weapon, or even year of the dragon. Now it is just a free for all to make a fast buck and those who care about rating/ want to hold their places on the rating Lb have to spend or get booted off.

When it first came out a few years ago while everyone on it had Pay to get cheevo's (it goes without saying) the ratio of this vs earn as you go cheevo's was far more balanced. Now it has taken a 180 turn.
