As a primarily juggernaut player, I've gathered a lot of data about the NPCs level 40 juggernauts face, including the buffed NPCs that were implemented as an attempt to cut down on botters. Most of the buffs were relatively minor; HP and energy buffs, adding passive bloodlust/reroute to some NPCs, and adding active skills as well. Most of the buffs don't make the NPC too much more difficult than they were originally, but one particular NPC stands out from that rule very clearly:

The level 30 Yeti Hulk.

This guy has surpassed even Valestra in my levels of hate toward an NPC. He was annoying enough pre-buff, but now he's just absurd. I'll break down exactly why he's way too powerful and needs to be nerfed; for reference, I'm a tech TLM with 455-513 defense in juggernaut.

The level 30 Yeti Hulk has 5 skills: Blood Lust, Field Medic, Double Strike, Cheap Shot, and Berzerker. The first two won't normally be used, obviously, so he only uses the last three mentioned. However, all three of those skills, have a 2-turn cooldown, which means he's able to use them one after the other without stopping until he runs out of energy. Well that shouldn't be a problem, right? As long as you have enough defense you can withstand it for a while, right?

Wrong.

With my level of defense, the average damage output (non-crit) for his skills are as follows: Cheap Shot ≈ 200; Double Strike ≈ 150; Berzerker ≈ 250. So for a normal juggernaut with 800-900 HP, 2/3 to 3/4 of your HP will likely be gone in only 3 turns -- and that's just from one NPC. If Yeti Hulk is paired up with another NPC such as Frost Demon or Valestra (either of which can happen because Yeti Hulk is only level 30!), you're most likely going to need a Field Medic or other powerful healing skill/core by round 3. Of course, that won't help you long...Yeti Hulk is just going to keep up the barrage, so if you don't either kill him or have insane defense/HP regen, you're going to die for sure. Finally, if Yeti Hulk is paired up with a real opponent, you might as well kiss your sorry behind goodbye, because unless the player is hot garbage you sure ain't winning that one.

Having an NPC this powerful is extremely punishing to juggernaut players; while the gamemode certainly shouldn't be a cakewalk, this level of difficulty is too much, especially since it gives lower-level 2v2 players a cheap, easy win. No player should be punished with a loss they can't prevent simply because they got the wrong NPC.

All that said, here are my suggestions for a possible fix to this problem:

1. Remove one of Yeti Hulk's skills, preferably Cheap Shot or Berzerker. His damage output would still be high, but not unfairly so.
2. Promote Yeti Hulk to a higher level: 33-34 if you want to keep him in juggernaut, 35+ otherwise. This would prevent him from being paired with the other powerful NPCs in juggernaut.
3. Nerf Yeti Hulk's strength. HARD. If an level 30 NPC has triple the damage output of NPCs 4 levels higher, you know something's wrong.

Doing any one of the three things above would, I believe, solve the problem. Feel free to provide feedback/questions.

"No player should be punished with a loss they can't prevent simply because they got the wrong NPC."

Tell that to all the tech mages that got a primarily phys based npcs as a partner or bounty hunter that got an energy using npc as a partner. Also it's good that this npc is strong. It gives lower level players some hope that they might be able to complete a 2v2 quest.

2v2 quests can be completed by doing juggernaut battles. It's not hard to get to level 20 or get a Silver Skull Card.

I agree that Yeti Hulk unreasonably powerful for his level. He's more powerful than most level 40 NPCs. Regardless of whether Juggernaut is too easy or too hard in its current state, I do feel that this NPC needs a nerf for the reasons that OP stated. An overall buff to all the NPCs was fine if the devs wanted Juggernaut to be a bit harder, but having this one insta-kill NPC in the pool doesn't feel right at all. In some cases where he is paired with a real player, the real player can be doing 30 damage every hit, but you'll still lose because they serve as a 2-3 turn meat shield for Yeti Hulk and that's all it takes for him to beat you. And if the real player is a bounty hunter, they can literally train all on energy, have no or unupgraded weapons, and still win as long as they use Smoke Screen. Obviously, it isn't impossible to beat Yeti Hulk in Juggernaut, but he makes it unreasonably difficult unless you use a build specifically designed to beat him (which would be quite foolish since he only shows up in a fraction of your battles and it would leave you vulnerable in other situations), to the point where you can lose when fully shielding and healing and almost have no statistical chance of winning when he is paired with any half-decent real player.

Not to mention, I played a few 2v2 battles on a low level alt where I got Yeti Hulk as my partner against two other NPCs. It's safe to say that Yeti Hulk is so strong (doing 500+ berzerkers against other NPCs) that he could be have been a Juggernaut in those battles. That doesn't seem right to me at all.

I think the most reasonable thing to do would be to nerf his strength in general, just because I feel like it's unlikely that he would have a skill removed when he already has so few and making him higher level wouldn't completely solve the problem.

@ Cactuschan

That is not an acceptable answer either for trying to shut down those who would oppose this character getting a nerf either. Why should players who actually enjoy 2 vs 2 be forced to get a jug card to finish 2 vs 2 missions? Player should be playing juggernaut mode because they want to not because they are forced to for the sake of finishing 2 vs 2 missions that can be won with Jug.

I have to agree with D3m37r1 on this one. Juggernaut the moment they added NPC to the mix made 2 vs 2 for anyone who was within said range a living nightmare. They became massive punching bags like it was back in Delta and before if not worse because they have no brain NPC's instead of an actual opponent and the majority of the time would only win if the following happened.

1) RNG made it so they get lucky
2) Two human opponents with the right builds would show up
3) A player with a special build who was abusing something that was OP showed up.

My point being is that while you are feeling the pain of getting a loss due to this one NPC your opponents who play 2 vs 2 get it far worse due to contently having to fight juggernauts with little to no relief and now something comes along that as D3n37r1 mentions finally gives those players hope and you want it nerfed.

Sorry but I can't support something like this and I myself play juggernaut as well.
