By average I am talking about a person who does not possess much fighting capabilities.

There are dragons, giant rats, shadow creatures, a sentient moon, roaming undead, the random zombie sentient food, and a never ending list of people who wish to destroy reality simply for the fun of it.

I would imagine it must be quite stressful. Even more so if you are the traveling type, as you are more likely to encounter strange creatures.

 Probably not that different from any random citizen back in medieval times. You have to remember that adventurers are a monster magnet of sorts, so we see faaaaaaaaaaaar more monsters in a day than most citizens probably see in their lifetime.

I don't think the average battleon citizen without fighting skills would last very long outside the town itself, since there are monsters literally everywhere you go.

I agree with @AliceShiki that the hero is a magnet for trouble in that trouble seeks him/her out and that he/she also seeks out dangerous situations. I think the average Battleon citizen would need to know how to defend themselves though, at least against zards and leprechauns. Lol

For the most part peaceful, (except for the occasional war) there are lots of exceptional heroes around Battleon. Though they do plan ahead for weekly trouble that usually happens on a Thursday, or within the next couple of days.
