Both versions deal the same amount of damage and have the same effect.
EFFECT
If at least one hit of the spell connects, it attempts to Burn* (power:2, [hits connected] turns) the monster. The monster also loses SP equal to [enough SP to cast one Melee spell at PowLvl]*[power]/10/2. Further casts of the spell will increase the burn's power, but not its duration. The monster can resist** with a save at +0 bonus.Level: PowLvl vs MonsterLvl

Minor: YourLUK vs MonsterLUK Monsters with =<0% Fire resistance are immune to this.
