Hey there, heroes!

This week, Book 3's main story continues. Last time, as you rushed to the aid of Amityvale, it was revealed that more Magesterium rifts have opened across the already conflict embroiled Kingdom of Greenguard.

Now, with the fate of Lore on the horizon once again, will the Rose and the Vind be able to set aside their differences and work together?

And how will you manage to protect the people of the Kingdom of Greenguard and close the rifts? And just what is going on with the Magesterium?



Head over to Kara in Sulen'Eska to play this week's main story release: The Golden Hand!


Also this week, the October Dragon Coin exclusive weapon is now available! The Scythe of the Unhallowed, forged by Dracelix, is a powerful Darkness weapon that has a very rare chance on-hit to increase your Boost by 5 for your next turn!



Make sure to get it before it leaves!


And now for some bug fixes:

Fixed a bug where a skill with multiple hits would not calculate effect duration correctly if some the hits miss.

Fixed a bug where dying to reflected or non-normal combat damage could cause the game to freeze.

Fixed a bug where Archivist's 'Celestia's Sorrow' skill had extra delay after casting.

Fixed a bug where Chrono Z's 'Kick' skill would not allow you to gain an extra turn.

Fixed a bug where Dread Pirate's 'Sicilian Smarts' skill was not activating properly.

Fixed a bug where Pirate's 'Backstab' skill could kill pets.

Fixed a bug where Eternal Epoch's 'Eternal Hex' was not properly applied.

Fixed a bug where Necro Paragon' passive DoT would not reset duration at max stacks.

Fixed a bug where Shadow Walker of Time's 'Antumbra' skill would not properly remove Umbra's defense bonuses.

Other misc. fixes.

And that's it for this week!

Isn't the weapon a little under-powered? A rare chance to raise boost for 1 turn by only 5? That is almost if not entirely irrelevant.

It's a weaker version of the amulet weapons' special. This is a good thing, having the best version of a special being exclusive to a rare item would be really, really lame.

I know but it also makes this weapon seem useless. The amulet weapons boost by 7, lasts for multiple turns, and isn't "rare" (which I assume means a proc rate below 5%)

The problem about the rift, probably because of Seppy and Akanthus. I just guess.

The volume of bugs just casually fixed is pretty great as have been the quests of late. Pretty amazing work is being done with this game, especially from Verlyrus. I'd love to see Sepulchure somehow leverage the Rose conflict to retain his rightful place as DF's lead villain.

Speaking on the new items this week, Ribbon of Compromise seems to be a slightly better version of Crystal Notched Belt with the same level tiers and mostly the same stats, except where Crystal Notched Belt boosts WIS and END, Ribbon of Compromise boosts CHA, Bonus and a small amount each of STR/INT/DEX. It's not as good offensively as Leorilla Mane Belt IV, but if you want some All Resistance and haven't had the chance to grind Defender's Medals for the later Defender's Dragon Belts it's not bad.

Scythe of the Unhallowed is our Halloween-based monthly weapon, a Darkness Scythe. The special is disappointing compared to last month's Sunken Plunderer's unique boost to gold rewards, as its "Unhallowed Leech" special has just a 1% chance on-hit to activate and boost your Boost for 5% for 1 turn (technically 2 turns inclusive if you have any extra hits in your attack after triggering it) whereas Sword/Staff/Dagger of the Amulet's "Dragon Magic!!!!" has a 10% chance on-hit to boost your Boost by 7 for 5 turns, making their special 35 times better assuming you can make use of its extra duration. It's a decent Darkness weapon in terms of stats with high bonuses to STR/DEX/INT, but I wouldn't spend 500 DCs on it especially if you have or are planning to get the Necrotic Sword of Doom.

I must say, I didn't expect Jaania to act so petty. I understand that cooperating with the Vind is another "obstacle" in her plans but I didn't expect her to sink to Akanthus' level and blatantly lie about what happened to Alteon (still hyped about his inevitable comeback by the way). I'm not saying it was out of character for her, though it did surprise me.

Speaking of surprises! I didn't really expect the Magesterium to actually send some help, let alone for that help to teleport across the sea right into the throneroom. Makes me wonder how long this'll last before Roirr makes his move...

No offense, but the weapon seems useless. There's countless weapons of the same element, and also countless enemies of the same resistance, so I do not see much point in it.

Regarding the quest,I was expecting more eye-to-eye hostility between Jaania and Kara. It's a bit disappointing that the scene took place in the vicinity of Queen Victoria, because as a double-edged sword, only she can be the mutual peace negotiator. I mean, I was expecting something much more private between the Rose and the Vind, or perhaps more hostile when visiting Swordhaven, given how Kara was once temporarily enslaved by Z. While I understand that Kara can be extremely wise when it comes to decisions, everyone and everything once in a while can explode in anger, when they see their eternal enemy right in front of them. Pretty sure that Jaania would do something, if it was not for the Queen's presence.

Therefore, I can hardly accept that the Rose and the Vind would ever come to a mutual non-hostility agreement. It just doesn't seem real to me.

With regards to the Golden Hand representatives, I am assuimg they speak of Seppy and Akanthus.

I'm suprised that Jaania would lie to the Queen when she blantantly knew that wasn't true as she was previously annoyed at Akanthus for telling her it was a kidnapping earlier when her sources told her otherwise in An Elegy of Ice and Fire. Also is anyone else almost certain that the DragonLord Guarding Kara is actually Alteon?

I've never even considered it, but god, does that make sense! I just took a single look at him, and dismissed him as a generic bodyguard.

 Didn't expect Main Story to continue but that is just awesome, like the quest was. The new Weapon looks great, but is otherwise pretty eh.

So, if the Dragonlord with Kara is Alteon, that is very interesting. Also, is all what is happening with Rifts Bolemira's doing? Or Roirr? We are closing on the timeline whenn Roirr arrives to Azaveyr.

Anyone else notice that the Exalted Penultima is now an Evil Weapon by default? Was this an intended change? I kinda liked that it was a Good Element before, so that I didnt need another Good weapon. If this was intended, then hh well, back to Pulsing Eternity Love.

Yeah same here, it was my Good weapon and I'd just never have it shown as its special is gimmicky and counterproductive. It really doesn't compete with Veraad III as an Evil weapon in most cases, hopefully it's changed back or the eventual Exalted Ultima is a Good Weapon.

 You can change Exalted Penultima's element to Good by using a single-hit attack against a Sneevil or something and then just not showing it, the element swap isn't reset until you log out.

Huh, ok, a little tedious, but I guess I can work with that. I hope the final version lets us switch between the 2 though, assuming this version isnt the final one.

Given the "Penultima" in the name and the "This weapon can be upgraded in the future." in the description I would certainly hope so too. ^_^

It's very likely that Bolemira was behind the Rifts opening up. And I have a feeling that we're going to see the implications of Roirr's actions very soon.
