Checking back on this game after a couple years, last I played, Void Highlord + Burning Blade of Abezeth + AFDL armor set was the strongest build with SC, LC and BB being mandatory classes for support and/or farming respectively. Has this been powercrept yet? What are the best non-mem classes/ weapons now?

Nothing much has changed, since you seem to have left fairly recently (at most, just over 2 years ago), however there are some things I would like to point out.

Technically speaking, Burning Blade of Abezeth (BBoA) was never the best dmg2all weapon, since the Necrotic Sword of Doom (NSoD) was changed from dmg2humans to dmg2all alongside the release of BBoA. However getting NSoD as a non member (without prior membership and getting SDKA first) is by far the longest grind you could ever do, which even today, assuming you were level 100 and had the best possible classes/equipment to deal with the bosses you need to deal with, would clock in at (more than likely) over 1000 hours of active and optimized play time. So for that reason alone, I would consider BBoA, and the 2 recent weapons with the same damage boost, the Archfiend Spear and Hollowborn Oblivion Blade the best dmg2all weapons reasonable to obtain as a F2P player.

Also on a note about AFDL. AFDL is a dmg2all boost, so it will not stack on top of BBoA since it's the same type of boost, however you can stack it with racial boost items such as Blinding Light of Destiny and Chaorrupter Unlocked (the 2 most prominent non member/non AC racial damage boost weapons) as examples.
So don't use AFDL and BBoA together, unless you just want it for the looks and remember to equip BBoA last, as to not overwrite it with the lower boost of AFDL.

There's also the new capes in the 11 year played badge shop, which are the current best non weapon dmg2all pieces, since they are 25% compared to AFDL's 15%.

Now on to the class part:
1. LC and VHL was already part of the eternal debate of low vs high HP soloing, but a new class, Legion Revenant came out last year which basically serves as an LC, but with better mob farming capabilities, better buffs (in terms of the class meta) and only slightly less solo DPS than LC, but can also sustain harder hits than LC, typically. Legion Revenant is literally the one class you could use for every purpose, a jack of all trades, except it's also one of (if not the best) in every conceivable category. There's also some classes which perform even better than VHL with the right support classes.

As levels grew higher and higher, a subcategory of classes typically just referred to as "infinite dodgers" became more prominent, being able to solo literally any boss, no matter how hard they hit and no matter how long the fight takes, as long as they don't have any specific ability to guarantee a hit on you. This list includes Chrono Assassin, Horc Evader, Great Thief and Leprechaun.

And then there's the 3 recent Calendar classes which are just in an entire category of their own in terms of DPS powerhouses.

2. Blaze Binder was a pioneer in proper AoE classes, but since then there has been several classes to outpace it (sometimes depending on mob HP amounts, mobs per screen etc.) like Abyssal Angel (2k ACs, seasonal) Vampire Lord (Seasonal), Scarlet Sorceress, Shaman once it got buffed, the aforementioned Legion Revenant and even LC in certain situations, just to name some. There's some other classes that does better than all of these within certain niche HP margins, like Frostval Barbarian's ability to just delete 3 mobs with ~1.1k or less HP, every 1.5 seconds (higher, if you're using boosts). There's also Master of Moglins which is gonna cost you 140+ dollars nowadays to get from Heromart, which is more or less tied with Legion Revenant as the best AoE class.

3. Stonecrusher is still a core class for any boss fight, especially ones with the aforementioned Calendar classes, as buffing their crit rates and haste, makes them so much more ridiculous, but in a lot of situations, a Lord of Order (11th anniversary class) or a Legion Revenant can be as good, if not more effective for group DPS purposes. Frostval Barbarian is also a recent support class, but rather niche, only giving crit chance, crit damage and has a mana cost reduction gimmick, which only a handful of classes would even find useful in the first place.

TL;DR:
Only a couple new classes, some being Calendar or otherwise bought classes, has changed anything drastically in AQW's meta-game between September 2017 (when BBoA was released) and today. If those items and classes you mentioned are your current line-up, you could be a lot worse off.

How is this year's calendar class solo DPS-wise? I have SSoT but I find it's too reliant on support to achieve the massive numbers that outcompete VHL and LC. (fairly sure I'm using it right, unless there's some minute timing I'm not aware of) Would it be so much better than SSoT to be worth getting?

I don't own SSoT, but from what I hear from most people is that it's just barely more effective of a DPS class than LC/LR/VHL, even if used optimally.

The last 3 Calendar classes however scale MUCH better with damage boosts and support classes in general to where SSoT just cannot compete. I would definitely recommend picking up either of the 3 recent Calendar classes (Eternal/Immortal Chronomancer, Corrupted Chronomancer or Underworld Chronomancer)

Any further questions and discussion points regarding classes should be taken to the Class Discussion Thread.
