So , i know the dude is in deren at the port. I can fight him , beat him and whatnot , and i still dont have the option to click on him. And just going back after defeating him doesn't updates the potion ingredient list in lucretia's shop.What am i doing wrong ?

Did you click on him on the victory screen, or after the fight back on the map?

hmm ,, looks like it worked now. I could swear i clicked on him on victory screen last time as well. Maybe i;ve missclicked somehow.

Eh, still better than the last time I had to do that. I'd get through the fight, then just automatically hit confirm without remembering to get what I went through the fight to get in the first place. Several times.
