Ok so for more than 10 years as this game has evolved, its just "level up, get high level sets and weapons, beat higher things, level up..." repeating with no end goal or sense of accomplishment. And once you reach level 150, then what? There is nothing left to do! We need some defined goals. Can there be a longer quest with monsters getting harder and harder, and the last one almost unbeatable....leading to epic never seen before items? How about level 151 to 155? How about one epic 155 set to rule them all? We need something more.

1). 150 is the max level in the game, which the staff have now mentioned repeatedly.
2). We actually already have some defined goals and some relatively difficult monsters to beat once level 150 has been reached. These include the Staff Moderator Challenge Gauntlet, the Void takeover monsters, Challenge boss monsters like the Wicked King and War-Torn dragon.
3). Might I suggest you come up with something more specific? This idea seems pretty vague and could do with fleshing out.

EDIT: To elaborate, perhaps you could come up with the premise of a Quest/Gauntlet that forces you to fight harder and hard foes, culminating in a strong reward. Perhaps you could suggest the mechanics of the monsters, and the reward at the end.

The Question
(AdventureQuest)

The 'epic never before seen items' will still lead to a dead-end that you speak of.

The challenge you seek, would most likely be akin to DF's challenge inn. And even that, loops itself after a while.

As with everything, there is always an end. And for levels, that is pretty much it.

EDIT: I've changed the title of this thread to be non-aggresive, and more open for discussion as a suggestion/ideation platform, not one for a complaint.

I could see a Void Gauntlet type of event to be potentially fun where you just fight and endless number of monsters similar to one of the Dungeons via Robina. Rather than getting harder and harder monsters, it could just be a pool of top level monsters.

It could be akin to the Wizard Games too though, with build specific challenges

The Question
(AdventureQuest)

Hmm... the recent void dragon war did provide some new elements to our usual battles. The randomness of those elements/effects could be that sort of chaotic and 'ever-changing' limbo if one was to ever be thrown into a fray of such an environment.

The Void as we know, is a place of pure chaos, and possibly the only truest way of fighting to survive and become the strongest - via evolution in a sense.

Although I don't potentially see any item-based-rewards so to speak, but I guess it gives bragging rights to those who want some sort of self-achievement.

Ok, I will elaborate. Here are some of my ideas. Lets add level 200 monsters of each element with greater goals

1. Expand Plasma Dragons (include plasma dragon lords), and after Akriloth, a level 200 Fire plasma dragon (hellkite) that is really tough to beat even for level 150 players. The reward would be the "blazing runestone" which is used to open a secret door..more on that later.

2. Put a challenge in Frostvale, starting with 2 level 50 ice monsters, then two level 100, then a 150, and then a level 200. Reward: "blizzard runestone". You get the idea. 8 elements, 8 runestones, each after defeating a level 200 epic beast (or even two 200 in a row).

3. Use each of the 8 runestones to unlock a magic door in the Guardian Tower to reveal the "Challenge of the Immortals". This would be another 8 round battle, each monster level 200. The rewards if anyone can complete it are two shields of power level 160 (ice and fire). 1: Ice Age shield. 2: Eta Carine shield. Each costs 150,000,000. Stats: melee 17 ranged 16 magic 17 element -26 mastercraft bonus: click on the shield for massive attack in the same element, cost 498 SP.

I'm not sure about having a level 200 monster but there can definitely be some challenging monster after some of thsoe quests.

I like the idea of the 8 elemental rune stones unlocking a challenge. This could be an endgame challenge I think most people would enjoy.

Ok, now we have something more concrete:
1). Whilst it isn't really used on anything other than deliberately unbeatable monsters, Level 200 fights are absolutely possible (provided they were balanced around the player, that is). In fact, the level 200 would work quite nicely for resisting status effects.
2). Plasma dragons can definitely be used, though I think they're more energy than fire element (You have lava drakes at your disposal here...). My suggestion would be to expand upon these bosses. What would this "Hellkite" do? Would they burn? are they built to deal damage or sponge it? etc. Those kinds of mechanics are always worth exploring to see exactly how challenging these bosses would be
3). The whole "2 level 50 ice monsters" etc. part can be done, but perhaps consider scaling the monsters? Two level 50s is no hurdle whatsoever for a Max level player, and given you have to fight the nigh-unbeatable level 200 to get any sort of reward from carrying out this quest, I don't really see the point of them being there...
4). The immortal challenge sounds interesting. The shields though... to put it into perspective: Gold costs are structed, like balancing mechanics (which is another reason why the shields can't work the way you suggest, but that's another matter...). The only exception to such a structure would be titles. To have a shield cost ~150,000,000 gold, you'd need the shield, with it compressing 5 of any of the following: Shield/Weapon/Spell. That's probably not something they're going to introduce. You might want to just tone it down to 48 million (for the shield + the skill).
