 Or do they just drop an update every so often with the players not having any info beforehand?

They will sometimes drop sneak peeks before an update or talk about stuff they are planning on doing on their twitter accounts.
But it's mostly just us waiting for the next release.

 "Tuesdays with Tomix" and equivalent Design Notes haven't been a thing for a while, and sneak peeks in Twitter don't happen every week.

 Releases are always scheduled for Fridays, not "every so often", unless something happens or we underestimate the release's workload. While rare, in those cases we try to update whenever we know we will not be able to release on time.
Unfortunately, since it's just the two of us full-time doing weekly releases, our workloads are quite compressed. There's a lot that can change throughout the week, and a lot of assets that aren't ready until even later in the week. As a result, it's an exception when we can release any sneak peeks or updates early on. Creating promo stuff mid-week also takes away dev time from the release itself as well.

Keep up the great work that you do though Veryly and Tomix/Dove. I love the DF story so much. Don't worry about it sometimes not releasing on Fridays, that is just because to create the quality you do takes time. (I am just sad/feel bad though that you have to work during the weekend.)

 Hey Veryly just wanted to say you guys do an amazing job. Also not every promo needs a pic to go with it. For example the post Tomix made about the war tomorrow didn't really need a pic.

Wait seriously, it's just the two of you? Okay, I am honestly amazed at what you've been doing, as I know how hard game development is, and to make weekly updates with that kind of skeleton crew? Kudos!
