Hey all, logging back in for the first time in a while, wanted to get advice on my 150 FO Warrior: https://aq.battleon.com/game/flash/charview?temp=39689670

I've been using the essence orb + shadowfeeder + vampire mesmerize + love potion + ... combo, although it's a bit tiring to do it for so many battles. Especially when you get OHKO'd by a lucky land shark after 10 battles. I'm using vampire for the MP boost to get to Moonwalker's Grace with Elahi Irt of Osiris.

Wanted to ask if there are better inventory choices than what I have. I have access to some of the old z-token packages, so if those are better, let me know because I might have them available.

Build : FO Warrior 250 str/dex/luck
Armor of Awe/UltraGuardian Element (If Applicable): Energy right now (for shield and BoA!!!, I can compress out of using UGA!!)

Level(s) of Items with Multiple Versions : 150
Alignment (Good/Evil or Chaos/Unity) : Neutral
Probably not getting more z-tokens, but I have purchased packs in the past.

I was considering:
- Scarab Shield or Osiris set shield for light?
- Are there other QC spells I should be using?
- I rarely use cyclops eye
- I don't really like Drakath Fiend Blade and Thornful, and I'd love to be able to work in angel of souls somehow.. don't want to get rid of WKZ though?

Recommendations greatly appreciated!

Welcome back!

First of all, I would suggest switching to werewolf, as it's the only FO subrace that doesn't require mp and Beast Form + Str/Dex toggles makes it a viable earth armor in place of Terra Bloodzerker. Vampire's Mesmerize is not really needed if you already have Love Potion.

Weapons

I would suggest switching your no-drop element to light, as Kingdom Breaker is a pretty average weapon. You might also want to align the special to PWD.

Blazing and Terra Bloodzerker are still the best weapons for their respective elements.

Kindred sword can be charged to autohit - a fairly useful utility weapon.

Haunted Dragonlord's Might restores a fairly large amount of sp every turn based on the number of hits connected. Nice synergy with 4-hit Beast Form.

MagnaBlade is an old standard FO weapon, meaning it deals +30% damage.

Royal Voidrender toggles to Harm damage.

Eclipsed DL's Might is a darkness copy of the Haunted one.


Armors

Blazing Bloodzerker, Taladosian and Horo Show are still among the top nukes for their respective elements.

Kindred armor is good for pre-charging against bosses, but for casual questing you'll want to pick up something with an easily accessible water nuke, like Quenching Bloodzerker or (if you don't have a spare UR) WHEEL.

Haunted Dragonlord is a straight up upgrade to Airenal.

When you level up Paladin, make sure to buy the Avenger variant - it's the best one for warriors.

Angel of Souls is still the best for darkness.


Shields

Fire doesn't really have any outstanding shields. The best I can suggest is Dreamweaver's Contempt from Frostval: Delivery War. It has a 1/battle qc skill that pays sp to give a fire EleShield.

Celtic Wheel has an Int drive to replace the one from Vamp.

Fujin's Dex drive tends to be more useful than Yata Mirror.

Pies's Cha drive is still very useful, since Dunamii now use Cha for 25% of their boost.

Chieftain's Ironthorn has been upgraded to a top-level earth shield with a Str drive. No more need to use compression.

Mystic Father Time is an energy clone of the old Father Time shield.

Haunted Dragonlord's Will has a stacking qc Barrier - great synergy with Purple Rain if you don't want to get one-shot!


Spells

Nothing new to mention here, I'm afraid. Imbues cost tokens, and you missed out on the Frostval Gifstboxen spell.

Edit: Oh, forgot to mention. We got booster guests for fire, energy, ice and darkness in URs. They provide a superior boost, though only for their respective elements.


Pets

If you plan on using Kindred sword, you may also want to pick up the pet from the same set. In proper mode, it can give you enough charges to autohit every single turn!


Miscs

Not much to say here either. If you switch to Werewolf, you won't have any use for Taladosian Pendant, so something like Bell Shell might be more useful.

In place of Cyclops' Eye, Morningstar Helm can give immunity to paralysis. If you want something a little more sp-efficient, Blood Ruby and Liquid Courage give resistances to paralysis and fear respectively.

Thank you so much! I saw some of your replies to the other recent FO warrior thread, but I appreciate you customizing the replies to my questions. Also, thank you for being the character advice sage recently :)

Some of the weapons you're recommending are 10- or 20-proc, doesn't that mean dropping the 9% dmg bonus of a 0-proc?
- Kindred Sword: utility, as in don't use it as a main water wep due to 20-proc? Only when the opponent is really hard to hit, right?
- Haunted Dragonlord's Might: Airenal's Cunning is 0-proc and has an extra 5% damage from the MC. I think that's better that 5% melee SP healing because I can always essence orb?

MagnaBlade looks hard to argue with despite being 20-proc ^_^ but I guess the choice is that+voidrender to make up for losing horo-show, even if voidrender is 20-proc as well

Happy to drop Kingdom Breaker, I think it's kinda ugly :P but I won't get WHEEL because I prefer the medieval style to being totally optimal. I'll try to get Quenching when I can.

10%/20% proc weapons deal a little less damage on normal attacks, but have a special that does *2/*1.5 damage. Since Beast Form and Bloodzerker toggles boost the specials as well, having a proc is no loger a death sentence for a weapon.

Oh, and I should also mention that 0-proc bonus has been changed from +9% to *1.08.

Oh no, Kindred is a perfectly viable water weapon. I merely meant that the utility of autohit is more useful than another Bloodblade.

DL's Might is 0-proc. It also heals a downright ridiculous amount of sp. For example, Beast Form's 4 hits tend to heal 500-600 sp (more on LS), which is more than enough to cover the costs of Beast Form itself, Str/Dex toggles, a guest and whatever misc you're using.
