Hello, I'm looking for some advice on FD beastmaster ranger build. I haven't played the game since 2017-18, so I'm not very current on all of the newer items. Also, not sure how much this helps, but I have two boxes ultra rare boxes and 2 rare boxes if that helps any. Thanks!

This is a fairly good representation of stuff to get. Go down to the equipment categories, and review. This should give you access to options, rather than myself telling you what you must have. It's your choice. I will tell you Call Sugar Gobbler is available right now in an old Mogloween quest, and so is Ghost costume. I would grab those while it's in-season. Ghost Costume has highest blocking for an armor in the game.
Also, you're going to want to have and use one of the Neko Subrace armors. These are the best for this build, hands down. Nothing even comes close.
Two types:
Sol Neko
Luna Neko

Each have 4 variants, that cover 2 defensive elements so having all 4 gets you 8 covered. If you are a guardian, you now get a 9th armor as another subrace No-drop.

Sol Neko- Pet/Guest damage increase/bth increase, with toggles that for every landed pet/guest hit, it attempts to inflict bleed and burn of the element of the pet/guest. This will stack over the course of the battle. These toggles change your FD status to FO status defensively, but you're dealing outstanding damage.

Luna Neko- The same exact concept as Sol Neko, but for 100 proc weapons intead of pets/guests.

You can use both Luna and Sol Neko at the same time. This is 8 armors thats going to outclass everything.

On your UR box, I think the single greatest item in the game to get for all builds is Prime Chaos Orb. Kind of a game changer.

Equip for +45 Charisma and +30 Luck. Then click it, it scrambles monster resistances. This does not consume a turn. Monster can reject with a save, but it's low. You can click multiple times, but here's the downside (usually not a big deal). Remember, each click (successful, is new scrambled resistances)

First click, +10% damage to the monster *and* to yourself. You give the monster more damage to you. But resistances scrambled. Each click after the first one, you lose 1 menu item. You can continue to click until you get the resistances where you want, with +10% damage outgoing and incoming each time, until you lose access to "Items" menu. This loss of access is random so it could be after the second click, or could be the last click until all menu items are removed.
Next round, the damage increasers remain (for whole battle) and you can click again, first time "free" where you dont lose menu items, 2nd click+ you lose them again. You can get 30+ or higher "charges" if you wanted to, greatly increasing both yours and the monsters damage. This damage increase is for all damage on the field, except healing. So your pets and guests will get much higher damage too, not just your character's weapons/spells/skills, etc.
If you have a blocking build, or can get resistance low enough, monster damage increase is usually nowhere near as deadly as your damage increase, but its always a risk.

The primary benefit besides the damage increase is the ability to forever discard the notion you need all elements covered. You can just scramble resistances.

So this means if you don't have all that great of say...random example-> Water stuff..your water weapon and pet/guests are just not as good as say, your Light stuff...just scramble them and use the light stuff..or if you have 2-3 options with Light that are all better than what water offers, carry all the light stuff instead.

The other item I may recommend on UltraRare is probably Bard of War armor, although the Neko armors are simply better. But this armor has toggles to give your pet and guest celerity (extra turn)

Just use the link and it should be by in large a good reference for you as you get back into the swing of things. So eone else may list by item category what all they think you need, which while helpful probably doesn't give you the full picture, where as the link I provided does give you a small amount of other options and you can figure out what YOU like.

Welcome back!

First of all, I have to mention that the stat cap has been raised to 250. That means that you can only max out three stats - and for FD rangers that's usually 250 Str/Dex/Cha.

Weapons

For your no-drop, I'd suggest darkness, as it lacks any exceptional weapons or shields.

When Harvest Fest comes around, you'll want to pick up Fireheart Warbow, which is the strongest Burn-inflicting bow in the game. Great synergy with Neko armors. Until then, Moglin Fan is a nice utility weapon, toggling between inflicting Control and Prismatic Burn.

Kindred Bow gathers charges for an autohit. Situational, but useful.

Winds of Time is a generic wind bow, nothing special.

E-Series Cryojet deals +20% damage for an hp cost.

If you find yourself with some spare tokens, Meduso Bow toggles for a fairly high chance to petrify the monster. Otherwise, Sneakbore Crossbow inflicts poison, with a toggle to increase its duration and power.

Royal Voidrender compresses Energy/Harm.

Morningstar Cross has a skill for 2x damage, Alternatively, Havarti Blade sacrifices some damage for 50% chance of granting celerity to your pet and guest.

Armors

Level up your Neko subrace. After completing the Advanced quest, you'll get a 9th slot no-drop Neko armor (earth/light) as well as access to other advanced Neko armors. With just three slots, you can cover every element.

If you find yourself with an excess of URs, pick up some Bards of War, as they have toggles for pet/guest celerity.

Pick up Ghost Costume while Mogloween is here. While it's highly situational, it's also one of the best armors in the game for dodge builds.

Switch your class title and train up your Necromancer levels! It's an exceptional armor for beast builds (even if the staff are still working out some bugs), with a plethora of guest summons, pet summons, and 20+ endgame skills!

Though switching to Necromancer will lock out some of the best class skills, I'd still suggest grabbing yourself a Paladin armor. It has several nice guest summons, if nothing else.

Shields

When Snugglefest comes around, pick up Snuggle Hearts. Its Burn Potence has great synergy with Neko armors, as well as a number of pets, guests and skills. Until then, Samukematsuri Buckler is great for maintaining both a guest and a misc.

Kindred shield passively gathers charges for a qc sp heal.

Keep Fujin for its Dex drive. When Snugglefest comes around, switch it for Accordion shield, as its Control Potence has great synergy with Love Potion.

Pick up Pies for a Cha drive.

Chieftain's Ironthorn has been updated into a Str drive shield, so make sure to grab the highest level version.

Umazen Aspis has Paralysis Potence.

Scarab Shell has a toggle to lower monster's MRM, increasing the accuracy of not just yourself, but your pets and guests as well.

Spells

Beastmasters traditionally suffer from a lack of spell slots, as they have to fit in guest calls, damage and utility spells. Thankfully, Necromancer makes the task much easier, as it has an omni-elemental guest, as well as very good fire, dark, ice, wind and energy guests. And Paladin has a selection of light guests as well.

When Fruitcake Zard returns to the Void, make sure to grab the guest, as it has great synergy with Umazen Aspis shield.

Mogloween is here, so you have a chance to pick up Sugar Gobbler, which has a very nice petrification toggle.

When Mogdin returns to the Void, pick up that guest as well - it's the strongest paralysis guest in the game.

Prototype Hunter Drone (Warlic's Shop -> Quests -> War Between Shadows -> Land of Rising Evil) toggles between Harm and energy and deals +50% damage for an increased upkeep.

Purple Rain remains one of the best utility spells.

Warmaster's Burst (wind) SPell deals +50% damage for an hp cost, great synergy with petrification effects.

Runic Binding is a Harm nuke.

74th Law inflicts Burn and Bleed, which have nice synergy with Neko armors.

Pets

Necromancer can summon pets for ice, fire or darkness, as well as an omni-elemental pet that toggles to deal increased damage for an upkeep cost.

Underwyrmling toggles to attack monster's sp. Great utility pet against certain bosses.

Fruitcake Zard has great synergy with Umazen Aspis shield.

When Grenwog rolls around, pick up Mutant Egg for wind.

When Woolzard returns to the Void, grab the pet, as it toggles between inflicting Sleep, EleVuln, and boosting the power of both statuses for an sp cost. Until then, Adept Protean toggles for EleVuln infliction.

Evolved Proteans for Energy and Light.

Keep Fairy Godmother for healing.

Finally, a Harm pet might be nice, if you can spare a UR.

Miscs

Essence Orb, hands down one of the best miscs in the game.

Like SCatalyst mentioned, one of your URs should probably be spent on Prime Chaos Orb.

Cracked Ornament has great synergy with any effect inflictions.

Goggernaut Helm increases the accuracy of all attacks on the field, including your pets and guests.

Hollow Dragon Amulet. +Str, Dex and Cha.

Grab Love Potion when Snugglefest comes around for stacking qc Control.

Also available during Snugglefest, Sunburst Amulet. +20 Burn Potence, and a pure Burn infliction skill.

When April Fools comes around, pick up Clever Disguise. The misc pays your turn and some sp to grant your pet and guest guaranteed celerity.

Hope the info's useful and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

Jeez, thanks for the advice you two! Yeah there's so much options to choose from. It's just unfortunate that so many of the best choices are locked behind seasonal events. Need to farm up a lot of gold for all these item replacements! I have another question though. I'm not good with math, but is the ranged version of Poelala and Dunamis not a staple for this build?

Although you need both mainstat and charisma to max their stats, *most* players who use booster pets tend to be full offensive in nature and thus, play pure builds. The boost is smaller for them, but best overall.

Most "beast" builds use pets and guests that do damage or effects like daze/paralyze, etc.

That isn't to say you shouldn't do that, though. It's perfectly fine.

Ah I see Sapphire. Thanks for that. Wasn't really thinking about how I use pets for damage rather than boosting my own damage. Cheers!
