Terror set shield drink fear ability removes the Afraid status from monster. The infosub does not mention that.

I feel like SP cost of 385 is pretty high for inflicting fear and element locking. In most cases, element locking is considered a penalty, since that reduces your options.

Is the fear inflicting rate increased taking element lock into account or something? Because honestly, other than my mage character, no one uses resistance scrambling so it's pretty useless for me.

this gear set is better fit for warrior BTW.

One turn of an imbue is worth 50% melee, and the fear effect from this imbue is worth 50% melee. So the total it costs 100% melee which is what you pay.

Shadowrend Membrane

Darkness shield. MC effect is it compresses a quick-cast skill that charges 100% Melee in SP to give you 4 turns of (25 x 0.9)% Melee Regen. The x0.9 is due to it being always useful since it's quick-cast.

MC Fire shield.

MC is basically Paladin defiance: Every turn you gain one Rebirth Charge. If you have ten Rebirth Charges, the shield will save you from dying once per battle. You can store a max of 50 charges; rebirth consumes 10 charges and additional charges are converted to Empowerment (Fire, +10% *[elecomp]*[extra charges], 1 turn).

You can click on the shield to toggle on a fast-charging ability. You pay [10% Melee] per round to store 2 additional charges.

5% Melee is worth 5*0.85/1.4 ~= 3 blocking, so 1 turn is worth 100*0.85/1.4 = 60.7.

Say you pay an additional 100% Melee of SP. That's 121.4. That doesn't divide well, unless I do 11 turns of +11 :/ I guess 5 turns of 24.29.

    From Lost Talon Pt3: Mountain's Talon Tower

    Earth version of the Talonguard/Lost Talon Tower shield. MC effect for this is that you toggle on and adjusts the shield's Fire and Darkness resists to be = to its current Earth resists. So the Lv 135 version will get -25% to Earth/Fire/Darkness all at once. This is a bit wonkier than normal compression, which normally charges extra gold, so we're charging 10% Melee per turn per element, so this will cost 20% Melee per turn.

    From the Jr. Squires of Order quest: Mana Crystal Defender. Kam says:

    Light shield, MC effect is that after using a damaging spell, you form a barrier that blocks damage, similar to the Agressive Anima Ward passive on Necromancer. The barrier is worth the same as the passive, so you get a shield worth 25% Melee after casting a damaging spell.

    Very minor, but the Dragonlord shields are now only usable once per turn, because SP dumping bad. Also they now use STR for their Barriers.

    Earth shield, MC is same as before (you deal Harm damage = to (5 x Blocks / Attacks /0.15)% Melee at the start of your turn based on % of attacks you blocked in the previous turn. If you also have the Bloodthorn weapon, this damage gets doubled.

    Retro Golden Shield

    Light shield, Magic > Melee > Ranged order. MC effect is that if you are fighting an Undead, the attacks are treated as if they're hitting your shield's Light resists no matter their element. If you are in the armour from this set, then the effect also applies to your armour's resists. Demons also get this effect, but at 2/3 of the value, basically it's a copy of the Unwavering effect from Paladin, but without the class title requirement, and working on the shield's resists by default instead of the armour's resists.

    If the character equipping this is NOT a Guardian, the shield takes -3 MRM, it is MC'd only for Guardians. There are also Z token versions at Lv 11/80/125/143 that cost 407/2200/4620/5940 tokens, respectively, these are also MC'd.

    MC: You can click the shield to transfer all active Bleed and Burn on you onto the enemy. The enemy can resist this with a save at a +0 bonus (inflict with END/LUK, resist with END/LUK). The save gets bonuses as if it's Bleed or Burn, whatever is higher. You can attempt it once per turn and use it successfully a max of twice per battle.

    Ice/Energy shield, MC is a simple ele-swap, x2.2 price for MC. Best vs magic and ranged (Twig clearly should be able to teleport away from spells and projectiles, so the shield reflects that) but slight weakness to Melee (Twig would think you're just coming in for a hug, so might get bonked).
