Im sure most people have experienced having to take off your shield, because its in the way of being able to toggle your guest. Or your weapon toggle being too close to your pet, so you have to creep on it, or not be able to toggle it at all without switching equipment first.

What if (like when you have certain armours) all the togglable equipment was just added to the bottom of the screen?

For example, the new "Dread Alchemist" armour is dual wielded, so your shield is placed in a icon under your SP bar. There you can click on it freely. What if im togglable equipment is placed there instead of only being available on its screen real estate?
