Figured this is where it all started, so why not have a thread up.

Are there any particular AQ memories you'd rather share in this thread?

Personally I remember engaging here quite a bit when Hall of Memories had just been starting.

Yeah sad to lose this forum going forward. This was the first place I could get help on the game.
And this isn't for Adventure Quest but this place was very useful when DF Inn at the Edge of Time started.

Wait, what's happening?
Okay, I just saw the message on the main forum directory.
Wow, that's sad. Guess I won't be able to interact with the community anymore. Discord is not exactly my cup of tea.

I think one of my fondest memories was when I got Guardianship, I was over the moon. At the time that was the best thing in gaming I'd experienced, and it's definitely paid for itself still to this today when I bought it back in mid 2007 IIRC.

Other memories were when I first got the Golden, Nemesis and Shadow set. I think Shadow was the hardest for me to obtain, as well as the Reign Set. Definitely one of my favourite attack animations still now.

AdventureQuest Classic was the first thing I ever spent money on online. I remember playing it in its infancy way back on school computers in what couldn't have been later than 2004. Little me thought "Obsidian Cloak" was the coolest, most broken thing ever because of Undead Mutant hitting so hard. Begged my mom for weeks to buy me guardianship so I could enjoy more of the game. I loved the art even back then. It just felt...right. Was it good? No, of course not lol We all know that. It FELT like a small group of friends making a fun swords and sorcery game for other fellow nerds. If it was better art, it wouldn't have had the same appeal. Watching the art get better over the years feels nice, for sure, but I will always hold fond memories of that old, dorky, pun-loving passion project Adam and friends put all of their love into. The way the crew interacted with the fans to not just take feedback, but regularly add fan-submitted items and monsters into the games to create these games WITH the audience, not just FOR the audience, has always captivated me. The whole team has always been lovely, no matter how big or small the project. The longtime fans are loyal because of that. That genuine love for the players is a large part of why we're all still here, and why the games still mean so much to us. It's not just nostalgia, it's respect.

Adam started all this. And from everything I've seen and heard of him, the dude is wonderful. Couldn't ask for a better CEO. Always made time for fun, kept his sense of humor and made sure all that fun fed back into the games. This isn't about AQ, but I still want to say it because they're such fond memories. He was messing around in the office in full Artix armor and accidentally broke a window with Blinding Light of Destiny. And so AQW made a "Windowslayer" armor. He competed on American Ninja Warrior....in full armor. Lost immediately. Fell into the water. So AQW got the "Scuba Paladin" armor. He invited every player to his incredibly dorky, nerdy wedding while thanking us for being able to pull off such a thing. The guy's wholesome energy and love of puns has lead to so much joy for so many people. HOWEVER, he isn't the only person who worked on these games. The small dev team keeping AQ running needs their appreciation, as well. It's not like the games are going anywhere, but if this is the last time I can voice my thoughts in the forums, then I'll say it plainly.

What's my favorite memory of AQ? Nothing specific. It's knowing how long this tiny little server game from middle school has managed to keep going and growing. While the dev team might have gotten smaller over the years, that is all the more reason to offer a deep and heartfelt THANK YOU for all of your dedication and hard work throughout the years.

I am sad to lose the power to post in Battleon forums.

AQ & DF Pedias
I suggest using this adventure quest wiki to host all AQ & DF pedias.

Wow, I just accidentally clicked on my Battleon forums bookmark (away for ~ 8 years, then poked back in about 6 months ago for a second). Sad to see the discussion end. Discord just isn't as great for looking back on discussion or having discrete threads.
Beyond just pouring over guides, balance patches, and new equipment subs, I still remember reading fictional works. Here's to the Chronicles of Tipa by Ultrapowerpie. I've been playing for 17 years now on and off. Time really is a strange thing. I think there was a Paxia-related quest in 2012-2013 where one of the rewards was a pet whose name has a Power Rangers reference. I'm not really much active on Discord as well but I'll try to post there every so often.

I'm going to miss this place so much.

I'm gonna have to go through my inventory now, I don't remember ever having it, but it won't hurt to check.
