The Virtual Reality -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/11/2007 16:04:36)

Interesting background idea for beginners. Kudos. :)

_Depression -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/11/2007 16:09:14)

Not just for beginners, lol. I use this too, I just go crazy afterwards and it looks completely different (yay for GIMPressionist and Displace filters!!)

The Virtual Reality -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/11/2007 16:10:52)

Well of course Kev. I'd give you the award for Number one hardest working GIMPer! :D
I love your concepts. :)

_Depression -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/11/2007 16:15:11)

xD Thanks, TVR. Like how this is the result of smudging and displacing my friend's face. Don't ask how. I have no clue. lol

The Virtual Reality -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/11/2007 16:40:24)

Lmao. That's flippin' sweet! I wont even ask.. :D
Nice effect none-the-less...

(I should quit the spammeh... :D)

But yea, if used right it can be a great tool!

_Depression -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/11/2007 16:47:20)

=D thanks again, TVR.

Stex -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/12/2007 4:01:11)

Cool. Looks best at step 4 me thinks.

Trip -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/12/2007 4:25:41)

Ooo good for smudging also...

_Depression -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/12/2007 10:04:01)

Stex: lol, Step 4 is everything after setting the layer to "Screen". But yea, I like that one the best. =P
Trip: Hmm... yeah, it probably is. Cool.

war0411 -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/13/2007 19:14:20)

Where is the "Screen" option you talked about? Im using GIMP 2.4?

LightningIsMyName -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/14/2007 0:37:32)

Nice outcome!
thanks for the share _dep :D

zenron the great -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/14/2007 11:40:35)

Cool tut. Ive got another background for plasma. You just do it normally and then colourise it to one single colour. simple but it looks pretty cool. I use dowloaded brushes now more than that sought of stuff

Necromancer Wii -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/17/2007 7:03:07)

Awesome I like the add FG to transparent part, it is freaking awesome. Thnxs for the share

_Depression -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/23/2007 10:58:33)

war: in the layers dialog box (open it by clicking ctrl+L), the Mode menu (the drop-down menu) has many options, including screen.

ferrari -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/24/2007 16:19:41)

Where can i find the gradients? Like gradient map and FG to transparent.

_Depression -> RE: Background Tut [GIMP] (11/24/2007 18:14:06)

To pick the "FG to Transparent" gradient, click the Gradient tool in the big toolbox thing, and then click on the button with a picture of a gradient on it that's next to the word: Gradient:

To do a Gradient Map, go to Filters>Color>Map>Gradient Map
