well looks like im swithcing to althorne anyway why? because im bored

Loki -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (1/5/2008 12:20:49)

This is incredible, althorne! I can't believe that this is completely free and there are so few restrictions and/or file hassles. This is extremely generous of you, and I'm glad you're sharing this utility with the community. Thank you!

I'll switch over if I ever start making tags again. (Though that's a bit improbable right now...)

If I may, just a quick suggestion: change the color scheme (or add more options) just a little bit to be easier on the eyes. I know a lot of people like the dark scheme, but I tend to like lighter combinations that make black text stand out and easy to locate (like the blue scheme here on the AQ forums). Also, someday maybe consider adding a 'quick uploader' button or something right off the homepage which allows you to designate the target folder when filling out the required fields. It would be much faster than navigating before uploading the image.

Again thank you so much. I can't begin to tell you how cool this is! :)

The Illusive Man -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (1/16/2008 13:15:13)

Question - Does anyone want me to make video uploading services (as long as it fits the filesize requirements)? I could probably mod it if i try hard.

zenron the great -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (1/16/2008 13:48:18)

Ives got a question

how do you get an upload in image form. I mean like a url of the actual pic so I can just put [image][/image] around it

The Illusive Man -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (1/16/2008 13:57:11)

good question - in firefox - right click the image and click copy image location.
in IE - right click the image, click properties and copy the location

I'll try to mod in a *direct link* menu box

biG frend -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (1/16/2008 14:09:08)

Or right click in any of them and click view image. And from their on its simple.

Dabbleh -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - It Cannot Die! (2/4/2008 10:45:31)

Now, I know this isn't a bump but...

EragonZZZZ -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - It Cannot Die! (2/4/2008 17:06:34)

That was totally a bump, but this is indeed a useful thread. I'd forgotten about it.

The Illusive Man -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - It Cannot Die! (2/4/2008 17:22:53)

shame on you eragon... shame on you ;)

DeathKnight2 -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - It Cannot Die! (2/4/2008 17:36:43)

It will never die ;)
Thats how great it is

dominic_r_monroe -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - It Cannot Die! (2/11/2008 17:31:17)

This is now only what I use (except for private Tags) Maybe you could consider that. Private folders with tootally random hosting names like 'usjadcfgewfhy.png' then having them protected and a way you can view the URL's for your own work.

The Illusive Man -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - It Cannot Die! (2/17/2008 6:41:37)

Dom - That is sadly not possible with 4images. When i was using coppermine, it was but it had a lot of problems with certain filetypea and sometikmes the whole database just went.

Update - I'm updating to the latest version of 4images today. PM me with anything that goes wrong.

The Illusive Man -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - It Cannot Die! (2/29/2008 16:35:20)

png resizer is down. Working on it

Peregrine Falcon -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (2/29/2008 17:24:31)

it looks pretty good. i just signed up. will upload 1st pic soon :)

zenron the great -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (3/14/2008 18:28:52)

im giving this a bump because of the amount i've been using it lately(the tuts).

its a great site.

The Illusive Man -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (3/23/2008 17:24:04)

Update

The uploader is having A LOT OF WORK done on it. Expect downtime (although no images will go offline in the time)

Updates i'm adding -

Display Image Codes (Yes, No More Right Click > Properties)
Multiuploads! (Yes! it's true)
Other Cool Features like "Tag Clouds", "Photo of the Day", "News Feed" and the long awaited:
Moderaters mod. We will now have mods. *Goodie!*

The Illusive Man -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (3/24/2008 9:05:10)

Yeah, bump

Maybe not so pimped XD

One mod i'm adding conflicts with most of the others. But this mod is bigger and better than the rest, so it doesn't matter.

Problem though, on the transition to the new database, there were a few problems.

1) I can't carry the users across
2) I can't carry the pictures across into the new database

No pictures are going down, but the new uploader is starting fresh

It's worth it, believe me

zenron the great -> RE: Dedicated GoCA Image Hosting - SWF IS BACK (3/24/2008 9:51:22)

so the pictures aren't going down. Good. I can't be bothered uploading all my tutorials again.
