To be honest, you aren't going to find a tutorial on "making weapons in GIMP". In fact, you are barely even going to find tutorials on making any sort of drawing-esque thing in gimp. To draw weapons, you need some weapon-drawing talent to begin with, or you need to find weapon-drawing tutorials on your own, which would be hard because it would only give you the basics, and if you want to help in an RPG, you're going to be much more creative than that. After that, you need to learn how to shade the weapons properly, which is probably the hardest part. Making good weapons isn't something you can just decide to do, you need to practice a lot - especially before you apply for a job. Not only that, but GIMP would not work for an RPG because you'd need to convert the .png or .xcf files in to .swf files so that they could work properly in Flash, but that's still not the worst part. If the said RPG has cut scenes like AQ, MQ and DF where they zoom in close on the character, the weapons will get extremely pixelated. So basically, what I'm trying to say is that you aren't going to be able to help people making a Flash RPG using GIMP. At the very least, you're going to need a VECTOR program. So, here are your options for programs that are going to work: Photoshop (Costs a lot) Illustrator (Costs a lot, but not as much as PS) Flash (Already Discussed) Inkscape (Free, but complex) So anyway, according to your needs, the only program that would work for you is Inkscape, and that's assuming that you somehow know how to change Inkscape's file type image format to a .swf. So anyway, now you know how hard this is going to be.
