The Rules of the DragonFable Guides Forum For more information on the rules and restrictions of the content within your guide, please read =DF= Pending Guides Forum Rules. All Universal Forum Rules relating to posting behavior apply! These should be the first thing you read when you join the forums. They apply everywhere; this means that any behavior prohibited by the Universal Rules is prohibited in this forum. This means no flaming, no trolling, no spamming your signature or emoticons, and no mentioning hacking. Period. No Plagiarism Do not post anything that you did not create as if it is your own work. Credit must be given, regardless of where it came from - IRC, PM, replies etc. Any instance of plagiarism will result in consequences beyond the norm. Accountability for your Guide When you make the decision to assume ownership of a guide, you are assuming the entailing responsibilities. You have agreed to keep the guide in a respectable state by keeping it updated. If you are no longer able to fulfill these obligations, it is your responsibility to relinquish ownership. What is not tolerated is retaining ownership but transferring the workload to someone else. More specifically, it is not the job of the DF Guides AKs to keep guides updated for their owners. If real life forces you to take a hiatus, that is understandable. But ultimately, responsibility for the guide is still vested in the owner. Posting Behavior All replies must be relevant to the topic of the guide. This includes questions (read below), suggestions and other comments on the guide. Check all previous replies in the thread to see if what you want to post has already been stated. It is optional to the guide owner to agree with and implement any suggestions you may have for their guide. Feedback is vital to the sustainability and quality of any guide, however, please use constructive criticism. Any rude posts will be deleted and appropriate consequences will happen, accordingly. Replying to your own Guide The main point of this is not bumping your thread. Posts that do not contribute anything relevant to the guide will be considered bumping. A couple "Thank you" and "You're welcome" posts are allowed, but they can be easily overused and used as an excuse to bump. Replying to questions is perfectly fine, assuming that no one else has already answered it. Discussing the guide and suggestions are allowed, but anything suspected for only serving the purpose of bumping the guide will be removed. If you're posting in response to a suggestion that you took, "added" will pretty much only serve the purpose of bumping the thread. Self-bumping is ONLY allowed when a considerable update to your guide has been made, and it needs to be reviewed again. If a post only served to bump the thread, that post and all following posts will be deleted. Relinquishing Ownership If you no longer wish to continue your approved guide, please post in the =DF= Locking / Deleting / Retiring Requests thread, so that we can find someone else to take over ownership of your guide. On Asking Questions Questions are allowed as long as they are relevant to the guide and do not revolve around one's own character. What this means is that the focus of the question has to be on improving the guide itself, not on improving one's character. For instance, you can ask in a farming guide if a particular spot is worth adding or how your suggested spot compares to those already in the guide. What you cannot ask is which farming spot is best for you because that is more about your own character and less about improving the guide. If the DF Guides AKs deem a question to be inappropriate, it will be deleted and you will receive a PM explaining why.
