zenron the great -> .xcf uploader (3/14/2008 13:12:53)

which do you think is the best place for uploading .xcf's. thats free.

I'd rather have anything than megaupload BTW...

crazysk8er -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/14/2008 13:17:01)

mediafire is the main thing i use, and rapidshare is pretty good too.

theres also some obscure site that worked well for me in the past... http://upload.kinstry.co.uk/

i think you haveta register though :\

zenron the great -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/14/2008 14:03:24)

and on those websites. can you upload alot at once. like an entire folder perhaps.

Cool Dragonz -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/14/2008 14:54:35)

Thanks for the share man! Registered and I may upload some .xcfs :D

biG frend -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/14/2008 15:20:36)

sendspace.com

To upload a whole folder you'd have to .zip it first (windows) or .rar it (Any, but to .rar you need winrar)

Cool Dragonz -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/14/2008 15:56:03)

Kinstry can upload 4 items in 1 time. That's enough. Patience is the key to success :D

Using MediaFire (as crazysk8er had mentioned), you can upload up to 10 files at once and sort them with folders. Unlike RapidShare and MegaUpload, there are no download limitations. Unfortunately, the maximum single file upload size is 100MB (though it has no maximum upload space, unlike Kinstry), but most of your .xcf files shouldn't be that big anyway. I've never had any major issues with MediaFire.

Cool Dragonz -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/14/2008 17:49:21)

I like Mediafire now :D! I really like the Design of that site ;). That will be my image + xcf uploader I think..

zenron the great -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/14/2008 18:07:46)

well its not just .xcfs. its tuts as well.

precisly 9 .xcfs and 5 tuts.

that shouldn't be a problem

ShadowBlitz -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/15/2008 8:02:11)

plz use mediafire.I HATE megaupload

zenron the great -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/15/2008 8:06:08)

everyone hates megaupload lol

biG frend -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/15/2008 8:54:18)

Don't see why everyone hates megaupload, cos of the 50 second non premium wait, Megauplaod makes up for it by how much you can download.

Mo -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/15/2008 11:18:14)

Er, one question though. For mediafire, how do you make the image tags work?

Cool Dragonz -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/15/2008 11:38:52)

I stepped back for images to Photobucket, because of the aweful link it has. They are just 91840975719826461574.jpg :P. Right click on the image » propertions and copy the url.

I actually don't mind MegaUpload. If you install the MegaUpload toolbar, every day at 9PM EST, you can click "Happy Hour" and download as many parallel downloads as you want with no wait or restriction (they call it a short term premium account, but the download speeds are about the same; I don't know if there are still limitations, but I haven't hit any yet when downloading).

Honestly, I didn't know you can link images in MediaFire. That's good to know.

media file can only take 10 files at a time. I need one that will upload at least 30

I wanted it to be in like one download link so does anyone know any good sites for that.

dosen't matter. I just saved it as a .rar file. it works and im uploading now

relykswalton -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/17/2008 0:03:53)

I love megaupload. I don't see why you all don't.
I would reccomend rapidshare. The only problem with this is that the file expires quickly. Megaupload files don't, so that's why I like it better.
Save as a .rar or .zip for big sets of files. Don't upload them all seperately. I would reccomend winrar.

Krieg -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/17/2008 16:33:27)

If you need to split up files into separate archives due to file size, .rar is good. However, if you're just putting all of the files into one archive, .zip might be better since all Windows users can unzip it without installing winRAR first. It's just a matter of convenience.

zenron the great -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/17/2008 17:10:24)

need a few folders and stuff. thats why I saved as .rar

its not like the winrar trial ever runs out. i've had it for months now and it hasn't run out.

Krieg -> RE: .xcf uploader (3/18/2008 20:07:04)

Not so much convenience for you, but for those that download your files. Zip also handles folders. I know winRAR doesn't truly expire, but it may annoy someone who doesn't have the program installed to go ahead and install it just to open your files.
