Here's an idea for a thread, that would likely be moved to this pointless, thread, where it's impossible to stay on topic as this encompasses way too many topics..
But what about the Worst Implemented Concepts of a special ability on a weapon that seemingly would be good otherwise?
The number 1 worst for me is the chaos flux weapons.
~ Darkness element, but with chaos alignment, it weakness seeks. So let's say I'm using the flux weapon, as a darkness weapon, it is likely the monster's weakest element is darkness to begin with. But alas, this weapon with chaos alignment has a chance to seek the element your monster is weakest too, which is likely the same element you're using, darkness!
That to me made me laugh out loud the first time I read this in the pedia... I cried...
Number 2 on my list is the Frostvale whip-
~Light element that is this way because it has lights. But as you use it, they break, and you can have it changed to darkness. What's the opposite of light? Dark. Most dark monsters have a weakness to light, thus causing you to use the whip, as it's light. That same darkness monster is likely strongest to darkness, so if the whip switches to darkness, you are screwed. Luckily for us, they left it such that you can re-equip it after every hit to ensure it stays light. Or you can just use L82 salvation bow or L90 death ray and never worry about it. This one is funny, too.
Number 3 on my list is Liquefactor.-
~Fire element, that can raise ice elemental modifier of the enemy. What's the opposite of fire? Ice. Ice monsters, the type you'd use this weapon on, are best against ice attacks. So raising this does nothing. This does, however, allow some unfreezable monsters to be frozen if the ice element is close to 100%. But this happens very, very, very rarely. Because it at least has a rare use, rather than a "never in a million years" use like numbers 1 and 2, it comes in third.
Number 4 on my list is the Fangsword-
~Fire element that triggers it's damage up against wolves and vampires. Against wolves, it's fine. Against vampires, who're weaker against light, it's pointless. That's why it's number 4.
Number 5 is Tsunami Edge-
Water weapon. This means you're using it mostly against energy monsters. Energy monsters best defense is against, you guessed it, energy. The Edge's special raises the monster's energy up by 50%, which would likely be pointless against an energy monster. But like the Liquefactor, it might have some use against monsters with even keel elements. But the energy nerf to the monster lessens with each attack. So monsters with lots of attacks, get rid of the soaked effect fast. Most higher level monsters have multiple attacks. But at least it's a powerful water weapon. It's kind of a pointless effect most of the time, but it still comes in at number 5.
Now the next post can be about something totally and completely unrelated, but alas! It falls under the topic in the most broad way...so it's ok..and comments about this will never happen. Gotta love the logic..
