I will be teaching you how to make this:

1) Choose your render from your favourite rendering site. Resize it so it can fit your sig later. I made mine 300x100
2) Open PhotoShop and make a new document. I used 500x100 for mine.
3) Make a gradient. I chose a orange-black gradient

4) Smudge the Gradient until you have an effect you like. I really liked this effect

5) Now Colour Burn the image

6) Now smudge it a bit more, I made my smudge go to the other side of the image like this

7) Once you're done that, paste in your render
8)Finally, add text. [optional]

And you are done!!

This is my first tutorial ever, I hope you have fun with it.

Another outcome could be:

On this image, the outline of the render was blurred, and the gun was colour dodged.

DO NOT RIP

Ripping may result in symptoms that are true horrible and gruesome to describe, so please,
if you want to learn how to do something and live your life as normal, do not rip.

Nice, that's REALLY simple, and quite effective. 8/10 [:D].

Thanks. I wanted to make a cool tutorial, but not with too much difficulty.

Mc_srewball -> RE: [PhotoShop] Smudgey Background Sig (3/21/2008 15:11:56)

Well, in my opinion you've succeded. Have you made many TuTs before?

the person! -> RE: [PhotoShop] Smudgey Background Sig (3/21/2008 16:13:56)

No.
First one.

Mc_srewball -> RE: [PhotoShop] Smudgey Background Sig (3/22/2008 12:33:08)

Nice.
Even better if it's your first.

This tutorial and sig was made the first day I downloaded PhotoShop.
I'm a fast learner, helps alot. The only thing I hate doing is C4D's.

And would this work with GIMP? I have that on my laptop, and once my PS trial runs out, I wanna know if I can make sigs like this.
And did anybody else view this? If you have the time to try it out, I want to see results.

Mc_srewball -> RE: [PhotoShop] Smudgey Background Sig (3/22/2008 16:06:36)

Yehp. it sure does. i tried it, and PHailed, with a capital PH. :P
so i discarded it.
i'll try again someday though.
Any chance you can link me back to the render in the first outcome?
