Very well thought out. Wouldnt have thought to use the clouds to create a effect like that

Dragon. -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/16/2008 16:07:08)

thanks, i always wanted to do a watery effect, it would have
been helpful for SoTW a few weeks ago lol

GaurdianX -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/16/2008 16:38:04)

it turns out that you can use this with paint.net
:O

Dragon. -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/16/2008 16:42:22)

:o
sounds good, although i have never tried paint.net
do you reccomend i get it, or should i stick with gimp

Mo -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/16/2008 16:46:20)

GIMP is better. I think that in the tut you should have included the render and brushing. It takes away from the watery effect

Dragon. -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/16/2008 16:48:57)

yeh i see what you mean.
i'll just carry on experimenting and see
what else i can come up with to improve it

i prefer your splatter brushes
to the ones that i used, i overcomplicated it lol

ShyTrake -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/16/2008 17:30:27)

[image]http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh164/bcstar/coloursofwar.jpg[/image]

brushes didn't go well. Ah well. I'm just a beginner.

Dragon. -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/17/2008 9:40:19)

your result wasnt bad for a beginner[:D]

*Ben* -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/17/2008 17:24:01)

Quick Question. When I paste my render in the new layer there is still black around the render. How do I get it to be watery too without messing up the render?

alphaberzerker -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/17/2008 18:49:36)

jamesthebond3/carbine -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/18/2008 8:46:58)

Wat cd4 did you use Dragon929

Dragon. -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/18/2008 12:06:38)

.@ben
are you asking how to get rid of the black around the render
or how to put the watery effect on top of the render.

to get rid of black around the render use the eraser tool

and to get the watery effect ontop of the render, just copy the watery effect layer,set to grain merge, lower its opacity
and move it up to above the render layer
(i don't think anyone has done that yet. the aim is to make the render look underwater)

@aplha nice result, really good[:D].but try copying the watery layer and putting it above the render layer and setting to grain merge and lowering opacity
like i said above. (if you did do that then raise the opacity a bit so its a bit more clear)
im glad you like the tut

@ jamesthebond3
heres the C4D

*Ben* -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/18/2008 21:05:30)

ShyTrake -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/18/2008 21:47:08)

Where'd you get the brushes Ben and Dragon?

*Ben* -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/18/2008 21:48:57)

Found them at deviantart.com. Search gimp brushes and find the one you want.

ShyTrake -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/18/2008 21:50:02)

Link doesn't work.

Dragon. -> RE: [GIMP] watery effect tut [dragon929!! #2] (4/19/2008 4:54:34)
