UNTIL YOU RETURN

The memories won't fade, my dreams are all of you,
your touch burns my soul, incandescent pure and true.
But so many nights, again my heart is sold,
and every night I feel, so alone and so cold.

Bring me eternal sleep, to hold me to this place,
where I can breathe with you, and bathe within your grace.
Bring me the darkness, so then I'll never leave,
so I won't lose you again, and I won't have to grieve.

Into the West, my soul flies at night,
seeking a glimpse, of your shining light.
Until at last it returns, with the breaking of the dawn,
And just like before, once more you are gone.

Somewhere deep inside, I hope you'll return to me;
lead me from the shadow, to set my spirit free.
Still the memories won't fade, and the dreams won't die,
so I'll walk with you tonight, and silently cry.

A PEAK INSIDE ME

I stared back at the man in the mirror,
he seemed to be calling my name,
warning me of the fateful end,
of this foolish, flickering flame.

I stared back at the man in the mirror,
imprisoned behind labyrinthed glass,
so close to the world, yet so far away,
watching my pained life fly past.

I stared back at the man in the mirror,
although wanting to look away.
His fragile life would soon shatter,
like the mirror would crack someday.

Staring back at the man in the mirror,
his powerful hands and long arms.
Dark circles which rested below his blue eyes,
which had since lost their sparkling charm.

Yes, I stared at the man in the mirror,
the artist, the doctor to be.
The innocent child who gave up his soul,
the boy who used to be me.

HAVE YOU EVER

Did you ever watch the sunset across the mountains high,
kissing all the peaks with colour as it slowly says goodbye?
Did you ever take the time to watch a moon rise in the sky,
shining bright with all its might, to watch the night go by?

Did you ever watch the twinkling of stars so clear and oh so bright,
up there in the heavens shining just for you all night?
Did you ever take a moment to catch the morning dew?
Knowing that the first to touch it could be only you.

Did you ever sit and ponder over the shape of any cloud,
and in your mind it could be whatever you allowed?
Did you ever truly appreciate, the sights, the smells and sounds,
of every passing moment that all of us surround?

Did you ever in a lifetime, think that you would really be,
sharing all these beautiful things in a poem wrote by me?
Did you really ever stop to think for even just a minute,
this life on earth would be so much worse if these things were not in it?

FAIRYTALE WORLD

Once upon a time, in a far away distant land,
of silver shores, with seas of blue and glistening golden sand.
Where ever lasting sunshine chased all the rain away,
and ever radiant songs of laughter filled every single day.

Once upon a time, in a land of snowy mountains,
ice old age descends like feathers and cascades down like fountains.
Reflection on the way we feel and what we need so much.
Where peace is found on every ridge like a miracle untouched.

Once upon a time, in a place of leafy green,
hills and fields and miles of land are all that can be seen.
All undisturbed by human hands, so lovely in there own,
where machinery and building bricks never shall be known.

Once upon a time, where fairytales were true,
with gleaming palaces, flying horses, and a princess that longed for you.
Where elves and gnomes and fairies were on what we were depending,
and every single time there was a very happy ending.

Once upon a time, in a world of goodwill gestures,
everyone helped their neighbour, no one was under pressure.
Welcoming with open arms each other to the fold,
bringing with one another a story so often untold.

Once upon a time, this world was what I knew,
it wrapped itself around me and with each day in strength it grew.
Although impossible as it sounds and how absurd it seems,
It pushed aside all my doubts and held onto my dreams.

Once upon a time, in a future to behold,
I remind myself of all these things that a story so often told.
Whilst sitting on your Mothers knee or curled up tight in bed,
you memorized every word, you hung on every thread.

Once upon a time, and every now and then,
I steal myself back to those times of wonder once again.
My mind is into overtime, I recount every single story,
in all its wonderment, the excitement and its glory.

Once upon a time, is where it all began,
imagination running free, in your mind being all that you can.
And once you’re in that wonderful place of miracles and laughter,
surely there can only be a happy ever after.

SO LITTLE LOVE
A collab between Clyde.E and me. Clyde writes in purple and I write in blue.

Hearts as cold as a false desire,
souls that burn themselves for fire.
Why, oh why in this world I must ask?
Must people hurt themselves for death's own task?

One pill to pull the strings of disaster,
the same pill you have to swallow faster,
soon everything will be commonplace,
it doesn’t matter if it was all a waste.

That fact that you'd ever go so far,
just to place yourself from the top bar.
To think you would ever dare to leave,
leaves me in awe and in disbelief.

I try to close my eyes and stay the course,
people are so quick to remorse,
and in the end no blood will spill,
but my life shall be changed by one small pill.

There's no magical pill to save all life,
there's no miracles to subside our strife.
There's nothing out there for us, but each other.
There's only your friends your family and many others.

You're far behind all the pain you were in,
in heaven there is no suffering,
I'll cherish our memories forever more,
now it is time to let your spirit soar.

NOT A DESTINY

Standing alone,
in fields of forever,
the wisping wind
rustles willows,
like a feather.

Nature’s beauty,
so crisp, clean and free.
Winter’s wasteland,
the calms of the sea.

Come take me away,
like a bird flying high.
Soaring through, the clear blue sky.

Paint me a picture of happiness to be,
I'll share your brush,
flowing fluid and free.

No dark colours,
paint the future bright.
Dance with the stars.
From the morn into night.

Live for the moment,
live in fantasy.
My life is a journey,
not a destiny.

SPACE AROUND THE CLOUDS

The space around the clouds,
though cheery light blue,
is filled with haunting silence,
and dreams that don’t came true.

At night it is a chilling black,
one look makes a brave man cry,
it speaks to me of love that failed,
and a star that it saw die.

The space around the clouds,
knows nothing of writing or reading,
all that it has ever seen,
is death, destruction, and bleeding.

TIME

Once you start living
you begin to slowly die.
Some faster than others,
death is something no one can defy.

What if I could live forever,
would I truly be happy and free.
Or would I live a lonely infinity,
no one to talk to, only me.

The rhapsody is heard,
as the sand slips through the hourglass.
Not enough time to come,
Too much time has passed.

Time is the oddest thing,
an oxymoron if you will.
I can bring great love,
or can make you feel extremely ill.

As you get older,
time seems to move fast.
With years of experience,
there seems to be so little past.

If we were to die tomorrow,
would we truly know.
If we were one of the difference makers,
Or if people thought us vile and low.

THE DIARY

I sit, leaned up against the wall
and open the old, ruffled book
that was once new and empty.
The book of the past and memories
of both good and bad.
The pages, torn and bent
with just a glace of it,
you know it’s been often looked at.

I look at the pages, silent.
Slowly I turn the worn pages,
viewing all of them carefully
water rises to the surface,
and a tear falls ever so slowly
like the pages being turned.
leaving a trail of memories behind it,
adding to the worn book of the past, and its memories.

SUMMERS GLORY

Nature’s pastel patchwork,
is a wind-blown, sand-made quilt.
An embroidery of colour,
made from shell, stone and silt.

With laughing, red-dressed monkey buds,
riotous in their mirth.
She decorates her landscape,
for celebration and rebirth.

Tall, spiked ocotillo,
with surprising bright red plumes.
Chubby barrel cactus,
showing off their summer blooms.

Lavender laid-back mountains,
rising stately and serene.
All speak of her sweet power,
as she redefines the scene.

Daisies yellow, white and red,
pad blooms of pink and rose.
Tiny golden buttercups,
no taller than your toes.

Cat’s claw reaching out for you,
kindly bidding you to stay.
asking you to enjoy the beauty of this scene,
to enjoy this summer's day.

A FACE I HAVE NOT MET

To a face I have not met,
to a laugh I have not heard.
To the love I've yet to taste,
to the girl who rests in words.

To the dream inside a dream,
to the vision in my eyes.
To the lips I have not kissed,
to the touch I have not tried.

To the mystery in tact,
to the never-ending quest.
In the truth there lies a shadow,
of the face I have not met.

THE ROAD OF DESTINY

I walk the road of destiny,
but it will not be my fate.
For destiny's my travels,
fate's sealed within a date.

For life's an endless journey,
not for the fearful or the meek.
Because it is so precious,
I wear it cheek to cheek.

And as I travel on this voyage,
I have vision, I have sound,
my mind's wide open enough,
to know what's homeward bound.

But if by chance I lose my way,
for a moment that I ponder,
I will never stop walking towards,
this destiny I wander.

For fate is sealed upon your death,
there is no going back.
But I will find my destiny,
in the footprints of my tracks.

WAR

The deadly fog has lifted
From among the bloodlet shores
The pristine light from a firefight
Bonds the tanks and guns of war.

And the man of wars be deadlocked
In a fight for life and death
And at the bottom of one of the sea
Celebrates the remaining corpse

And the countrymen turned slayers
In the trenches that they seed
Fight hand to hand to make a stand
Against dishonor and tyranny

Though the odds be yet against them
They hold their heads up high
As the darkened night proves lit with fright
With evil comets in the sky

And in the end be severed
Like a cord cut in the night
The countryside lay sleeping
With no victory seen in sight

There is no honor upon us
For death comes with a price
For few are left to celebrate
When war has killed us twice.

AUTUMN STROLL- Haiku

Under amber boughs
ephemeral glimpses of life
fall before my eyes.

NEW DAY- Haiku

The dawn came again
To paint the sky with brushes
Welcoming the day.

NEW NIGHT- Haiku

The sunset aura
leaves trails of light on the sea
and ushers the night.

NEW SEASON- Haiku

Winter says goodbye,
but leaves the door ajar for
Spring to enter in.

THE SEA- Haiku

The sea is churning,
and frothy waves are coming
to meet the shoreline.

THIS LAND

As I fly through the air
watching the lands far below,
buildings, burned out shells
homes were once full of joy,
families growing as one
Waking to find Hell!

Fires raging, shells falling,
explosions sounding
deafening all,
blood flowing from limbs
torn from bodies,
screams of pain
anguish in tearful eyes.

Shells of houses, a barren waste,
haunted souls, fearful cries,
families wasted, anger rising,
all factions up in arms
fighting, warring with each other,
let the enemy fall,
destroying, killing our brothers.

Take away innocent lives,
children homeless, starving wretches,
incapacitated orphans all
searching for shelter from the cold,
the politicians standing tall
upon a land gone to waste
seeing blind they cannot see,

These fires raging across the souls
of spirits haunted by death
disease riddled corpses
nightmares from the deep
invading when you are asleep
and always the children suffer
when a land has gone to waste.

THE MORNING SUNLIGHT

The morning Sunlight filtered through
a patch of clouds and sky of blue
and settled on the soul of me.

It helped to chase incertitude
And all its darkened, angry mood Away.
Now once again I see
what lay ahead is better than
the musings of a bitter man
who'd let the chains of misery
encircle him so very tight.

The chains have fallen to the light
of greater value,
thus to be
A part of me that is no more,
I’ve shed the past and closed the door
and left it all a memory.

The morning Sunlight with the gold
Has made the new from something old
And changed the very heart of me.

SOUL MATES

Souls entwined in light and love,
soaring ever higher,
dancing together, flashes of fire,
through nights and dreams of desire.

Senses scream in passion,
laughter fills our hearts,
songs of joy and forgiveness,
in a World so torn apart.

THE FIRST TIME

I heard something,
the first time we ever did speak.
I felt something,
with the first kiss on the cheek.

So what are these feelings,
and what do they mean?
Is it like or love,
or something in between?

Why do I ponder,
and dream of you at night?
I think of you constantly,
whenever you're out of sight.

What is it about you,
that makes me feel this way?
Is it your touch or feel,
or just the things you say?

You looked through the surface,
and saw the real me.
You opened my heart,
and set me free.

AS THE WIND BLOWS

As the sunlight hits the flowers,
as the Raindrops gently fall.
As the morning dew gathers,
on the oak trees proud and tall.

As the bear roars in the forest,
as the Eagle flies so high.
As the Salmon swim up river,
while the current flows on by.

As the cactus blooms in the desert,
as the palm trees sway in the breeze.
As the waterfall falls softly,
under tranquil skies with ease.

As the mountain stands so proudly,
as the lightning strikes the sand.
As the wild horse runs freely,
over all of this great land.

As the spider spins his silver web,
as the bees buzz in their hive.
As the wind blows through the forest,
so peaceful, so alive.

And as all this happens,
know that I, am in love with you.

FOREVER A PART OF YOU

I shall never leave you;
I will be the flame with each candle you light,
encircling you within the glow of my essence.
Look for me there, as I take away the darkness of your night.

In Spring, I will be the first tulip you see upon a grassy lawn,
red, vibrant and full of life.
Dancing to the music of your song.
I will be in that ray of warm sun, stroking your face;
And the breeze will be my voice whispering softly of my love for you.

When summer arrives, I will be the first firefly blinking in the evening air.
See it, Hear my laughter,
beckoning you to "Catch me if you can!"
My spirit's free, waiting among the pines. Certain that you will find me.
So you may feel my cool touch in the mist, upon your feverish skin.

In the golden season of Autumn.
I will wrap you in my colors.
I am there in the falling leaves.
Floating gently on wisps of air.
For I am the tree, shedding my clothes to you,
my Lover;
As I fall to the ground and sink into the earthiness of you.

On a Winter's eve it will be my breath that forms from your lips.
My thoughts will be yours as you stroll the path we once traveled together.
Look to the stars and seek the brightest.
For you are not walking alone.
In winter’s silence, you will hear the Man on the Moon rejoice in our poetry.

What you see with your eyes, feel with your heart.
I am forever a part of you, our love is eternal.
I have not left you; I only wait for our next journey.
For there are no endings, only beginnings that never end.
