~Introduction~

Within the shadows of the forest a slight rustle upsets the silence of the area. The guard's attention quickly gazes upon this shadow as he approaches it cautiously. "Is - anyone out here?" the guard had questioned as he searched the area from a distance's glance. Just as the guard let his guard down the bush began to rustle again more violently than before. The guard began to get angry and bends over to look into the bush to see if it was a small creature of some sorts. To his surprise a wind-up toy of a mouse with a flute stuck under a twig.

"Isn't this out of the ordinary?" the guard begins to reach for the toy until a sudden thick fog takes over an area around him. An onslaught of coughs disable him from yelling or calling someone for help. The guard looks up as he hears something up in the tree above him moving quickly like a spider to it's new victim. It looked a like a demon from hell had arisen to take the unjust and the sinful.

Within the tree a blade held by the demon changed it's side and reflected the moonlight in a blinding manor. "Sorry kid, but today's your day." His voice even sounded demon-like in it's very essence. The guard suddenly acted sickly, his sight became blurry, and the world around him began spinning. Just after he fell he saw the demon fall from the tree and land perfect and precise. His eyes also gazed upon it's face as it removed the mask. "Wha-?" he wanted to speak, but the poisonous gas prevented him from doing so. The guard figured it all out just before he lost consciousness; it was man, a professional... His eyes shut and his breathing steadied as he fell deeper into unconsciousness.

The mysterious man dropped his demon mask and looked towards the moon that looked bigger than ever tonight. A sudden wave of cherry blossoms blew past the man as he withdrew his dagger. Their pink color with the moonlight gave it a majestic aura of beauty, but - there is...no beauty in death.

As he turned his face his emerald colored eyes also reflected the moonlight...along with the reflections of past sorrows and hatred...

Chapter 1: The Redeemer

He began his way, looking for the front entrance, watching out for any more guards. Thankfully there weren't any guards near the front, this was because one hour before now he sent a letter saying: "I'll be assassinating your lord where you least expect it." This sent them all into panic and now their awaiting for the assassin within the lord's chamber. Hopefully the whole front terrace should be clear of anyone. He made his way to the base of the giant front gate. The man began to search his pockets got something to open the gate.

He finished his search and pulled out a slim white cylinder-shaped piece of chalk. His hand rubbed across the giant gate doors, "Yeah this is oak with an iron weighting." He raised his left hand straight into the air, holding the chalk as he paused and prepared. After a few seconds of waiting his hand descended and began draw quickly. His hands were quick and steady as he finished the piece. It was finished and the chalk was half used up.

There it was a simplistic triangle within a neatly drawn circle. Though its looked was quite simple its use was nowhere close to it. The grand artist laughed to himself at a safe audible as he placed his hand on the circle. Soon after it began glowing an earthly green that didn't stick out to much. Suddenly a seven foot hole took the place of the circle, no noise or explosives involved. He walked through the hole and gazed upon the empty terrace. The words 'to easy' ran through his overconfident mind until...

He suddenly stopped in his tracks, his foot was dangling in mid-air. His eye twinkled in the moonlight, but so did the trip wire one inch from his foot. No worries, all he has to do is step back. It was only the last second until he noticed that he was surrounded by trip-wires. He didn't panic and he remained calm until a felt a beat of sweat running on his face. It was going to fast for him to do anything and eventually it made its way off of his chin. He closed his eyes in fright just as the drop of sweat hit the trip wire and activated it.

After some slurs of a few expletives he made his way out of there. It was to late and he was already surrounded by Lord Gamaichi's men. A handful of samurai, a group of other assassins, and other men who hired by Gamaichi. These guys were easy and would be no problem, but it was their General he did not feel like handling at the moment. The crowd began to disperse as the General entered. His massive halberd was his trademark and his name was Yari...Yari Senshi. Not to mention his height and agility was renowned amongst the samurai.

"Ah figures I'd met you here, Marken." Yari rolled his neck as he prepared his halberd. His men fell back knowing they were in his way.

"Well I didn't know my fame hit this part of Japan so quickly," Marken grinned as if he wasn't surprised.

"How could it not?" Yari was pacing back and forth keeping the rattle of his armor going. "The infamous Marken extended his mercenary skills in a special temple here in Japan." He readied his halberd and pointed towards Marken.

"Yari...you're not the one I'm after." Marken draws out a dagger and readies his stance.

Yari began spinning his halberd in the air, "You must go through me Absolute Alchemist!"

Marken humphs displeasedly, "Don't call me by that unwanted title, also don't say I didn't warn ya." He readies his dagger as Yari continues spinning his halberd.

Chapter 2: The Goal Ahead

Yari's halberd began it's momentum from over his head and quickly gained speed as it's path pointed towards Marken. As the axe glided past the ground blades of grass and clusters of dirt were blown across it's path as it ascended. His imagine looked back to him as the blade of the halberd passed inches away from his face. Marken grinned as his body spun backwards and avoided the attack gracefully.

"Humph, nothing more than flashy maneuvers." Yari's attention was centered on Marken as he tried to lift his halberd from off the ground. He tugged his left arm waiting for the halberd to react to his gesture. 'It's not budging!' Yari struggled some more, adding more effort into his lift, but still no response.

"Hehe, need some help?" Marken jested as he walked towards the halberd. Yari clenched his right fist before pointing it at Marken and opening it.

"You snobby little bas-" he halted his speech as Marken kicked the weapon from out of the ground. Yari seemed almost sent off guard by this as the halberd flew out of his hands and into the open air. He stumbled forward, his feet tumbled awkwardly as he tried to grasp the handle again. Marken stepped back and watched as Yari's weight threw him onto the ground face first and chuckled lightly. Yari lifted his right arm up towards Marken again, "Is this funny!?!" He yelled as his hand glowed a furious yet intense bright light.

Marken's eye shut tightly as the light was to much for his eyes to handle the light. Though he was blind temporarily his ears still worked perfectly. The sound of metal clashing against metal made Marken's ears twitch slightly. Marken lifted both his arms up to block his right side as the halberd collided with his iron gauntlet. Though he didn't know how Yari pulled that one attack off it still dealt some heavy damage on Marken as his body went flying up against a stone wall. Slowly he slided off the wall and landed in a sitting position against the wall.

"Hehe," Marken laughed as he wiped the blood from off the bottom of his lip. His breathing became slower more laboured as he picked himself up.

"Why are you still laughing!?! Can't you see I am way better than you are!" Yari began swinging the halberd again, but this time with the finishing intent. The force behind it began creating a tornado around Yari while the halberd spun.

"Why can't you see it?" Marken smiled as he lifted his right arm to protect his face from any dirt. "You see I'm not in it for the money, the glory, or for the love of killing. I'm in it for the people, more or less for justice. I want to create a balance in this world that leaves no man without an equal, a world where no one is afraid of bullies like yourself. The world I dream off will be a reality as I strike the most greedy of men and give to the poor and weak. The root of all evil...will be cut down before it can spread it's evil seeds across the world."

Yari laughed at Marken's last statement, "I will quell your rebellious fire before it even touches a single root!" Quickly he threw his halberd, like a boomerang it spun and Marken attempted to block. Fortunately the blade or the point came in contact with Marken, but it still forced him off guard. The halberd once again flipping in the air after the recoil and there Yari was grabbing hold of it without batting an eye lash.

The pike impaled into Marken's chest as Yari drove him against the wall. Yari smiled and laughed manically as he drove the halberd deeper into his body. Marken listened the laughs and the shouts of victory as his eyes began fading into a complete darkness.

"Is this the end?"

Chapter 3: The Savior

Marken's eyes opened faintly, his body felt numb all over. Through bubbles of a crimson red he could see a hint of a blurred out white moving back and forth. He looked down to see that most of his clothes and weapons were removed and that there were wires attached to his forehead, arms, legs, front torso, and back torso. As he tried to stretch his wound began hurting. Suddenly images flashed in Marken's head, they were images of the battle he had fought not to long ago. He started lifting his arms prepared to force his way out of the glass cylinder compacting him.

"Get me out of here!" Marken yelled as he kicked and screamed at the glass, but his cries were muffled by the oxygen mask on his face. Quickly the white blurrs moved around until one came to a flashing red button and pressed it. The wires attached to him sent violent shocks of electricity through out Marken's body. Screams of immense agony began again, but Marken wasn't going to give in so easily. His arms raised and clapped together. As the markings on his back to his fore arms began to glow a translucent blue the electricity flowed to the center of Marken's palms. Quickly he forced his hands to the glass and sent an explosion through the glass.

His body fell out of the cylinder and onto the floor along with the red liquid. Marken reached for the wires to pull them off one by one until he heard someone walk up to him. He looked up to see that those white blurrs were actually lab coats and to notice he was being studied. Marken was still a bit woozy from the cylinder and from that explosion and managed to stand himself up. He looked at this scientist eye to eye and as he looked he noticed this scientist was different somehow.

"Out of my way!" Marken pushed him aside easily, but felt somewhat strange. He stopped and looked back for a second to see that the scientist was gone. "Run!" Marken thought as he turned around quickly to get out of there.

"Where do you think you're going?" The scientist was blocking the exit and now Marken was trapped. His voice and eyes were deep and commanding, almost as if his life was full of unwanted experiences. "Now go back to resting Mr. Develyn." As he lifted his right hand, energy danced at the tips of his fingers. "Good night Mr. Develyn," he said as he released the energy and sent Marken flying back into the cylinder. Sparks still haunted Marken's body as he was rendered paralyzed.

* * * * *

The Scientist walked up to the glass and placed his hand on the cylinder. As his hand glowed the shards of glass came together to fix the capsule.

"Fill it up with new R.E.M(Resonate Evaluator Mod.) liquid and get back to studying him, now!" He walked out the room as his workers got back to work. "He used alchemy that took me years to learn," He walked down the dark hallway. "Strange." After a few steps he reaches a rusted over door and pushes it open. There before him was dark and damp room that was basically sound proofed by magic.

From his lab coat he pulled out hand-held crystal ball and placed it on the floor. Suddenly it glowed and a voice echoed out from the small orb. "Ahh Roian it's you." A woman's voice called out to the scientist.

"Hey Amelia." He responded as he cracked his neck.

"So did you manage to retrieve Marken yet?"

"No, not yet Amelia, but I..."

"You what?"

"I..."

"Don't tell me you killed him!" Her voice roared through the room.

"I didn't, but I did shock him pretty badly."

"Well at least he's ok, but he's only ok as long as he's under your sight. Remember Roian watch out for-" Her voice was cut out by static.

"Alright then," Roian said as he reached for the orb and placed it back into his lab coat. As he headed towards the door he heard the sound of a piece of concrete falling. Roian turned around quickly to see nothing, but darkness filled corners. He readied his energy blase again and pointed it at both of the corners while moving his hand from left to right.

"Who's there?"
