Statues of the King
Introduction
There is an ancient power in existence that very few know about…an ancient power that has bee shaping the world since its creation. At one point in time far in the past, there was a powerful king containing mystical power. He channeled this power into 24 nearly identical heirlooms, each to be given to one of his sons, trusted friends, or servants. Four of these were statues for his direct heirs, the remaining twenty forged as medallions for his friends and most loyal servants. Within these artifacts was contained the power of the King, the power to control those around them. They have been used in every war, every battle, every era in time since the King’s time, and those who controlled them controlled the world.
But, today, these objects are practically forgotten. With a much larger world, they are scattered around to never be found by others. It is very rare for two to meet each other, so most people are rather happy in their own private little secret kingdoms. Most wielders are aligned to good or neutral, so they only use the power when necessary. The objects are waning in importance, but another figure is about to enter the fray which will cause unity to be a necessity, or face not only the destruction of the artifacts, but also of the very human race…
